just  gonna  add  here  that  elena  could  have  very  well  been  hired  by  an  orlesian  to  spy  on  the  conclave  and  was  then  thrusted  into  a  position  of  power  while  she’s  still  being  paid????  don’t  you  think  this  greedy  little  bard  would  for  sure  play  both  sides  as  long  as  she  possibly  could?  like  elena  is  not  a  good  person  ,  she  basically  only  does  things  for  her  own  gain  ,  but  here  she  is  comparing  the  benefits  she  can  get  from  being  the  face  of  the  inquisition  vs.  a  spy  on  the  inquisition.  i  mean  the  further  she  gets  into  the  campaign  against  corypheus  ,  i  think  it  would  be  more  difficult  to  communicate  with  her  patron  but  for  as  long  as  she  possibly  could  ,  she  would  play  the  game. 

until  she  gets  in  over  her  head  LIKE  USUAL  and  oh  my  god  would  elena  be  detained  and  put  on  trial  and  punished  by  her  own  inquisition  ?????  PROBABLY

guess  she  could  have  some  positive  character  growth  ...  eh
