The Only Human Document

Hello. For the past few months I have been working on a document deconstructing the dynamic between UNDERTALE's protagonist and the various factors surrounding them. After replaying the game I've had a revelation of sorts regarding this topic that I'd like to share with you.

For theorists in this community, I only hope that this proves useful going into DELTARUNE.

sleepy brain can't be normal so when I get up to use the bathroom tonight it keeps going "ok we need to turn on the lights and move quick or else Spine will get you. Spine from look outside."

Also whenever I'm scared like this I flip off the dark and call my middle finger my little torch

playing look outside and did the teeth family encounter as is expected on day 2 and god the entire thing fucking destroys me. Literally quit the game after killing Joel in my first pass through because it brought me so much distress to have done that. I'm not even going to consider fighting Baby Teeth because. God. Fuck. I really wish I could help them all but I know the situation is dire and ultimately this is survival horror.

Did save rat baby. I now have two sons in my home. Trying to get more recruits hopefully. I really hope this game doesn't have any encounters where you have no option other than to just kill a child because that would fuck me up so bad. I know true pacifism isn't an option here unless I legitimately just want to not go anywhere ever and even then that sort of mentality isn't something that is super viable with a game and setting like this, which is valid, but wow.

had a crazy ass deltarune dream during a nap today.

I will play every way I can manage, because I want to see every way things progress and end.

Anyways deltarune seems to have a currently running message of "Nothing matters in the end", which is followed up with "So let's be kind on our way there" on full-recruit routes, which I love. Toby insisted on deltarune having one ending, and if that's still the case I find the ways that the path there can branch to be beautiful.

my deltarune playersona is definitely one to fit into that mold that the game expects you to fill, going back to find every detail possible no matter the cost at times, full of love towards that little world that only someone entirely detached could hold, one that makes violence towards it part of expressing said love. I love these characters, and I love this game, so of course I'm going to keep biting the apple, even once I hit the bitter core
