Touch - Ardbert x WoL FFXIV (Fanfic)

Not long ago, you wouldn't have thought much about Ardbert, but seeing him again and again in the Pendants you took an interest in him. He was only a ghost, but you felt like he was something more, something much deeper linked you. However, you couldn't put a finger on the the way you felt.

You were quite alike, two warriors of light trying to save their own world, maybe it was the only reason, but as you talk more and more two him.... you first felt sympathy, he was a ghost no one could see but you. But unknowingly he has made it's way to your heart and you could say he was a friend... or maybe more than a friend.

He was the reason you didn't feel lonely.

He was the one who understood you the most.

You told Ardbert about all your adventures, he told you about his. You loved hearing his stories, the smiles he had when he was talking about his friends.

"He has cute sides for a big man like him", you tought.

You liked to see his smile, your burdens seemed so much lighter. You didn't want to worry the scions, but you felt lonely. Everyone saw you as hero when you were juste you. Ardbert was the only one to treat you as a human being. He had been a hero too, he knew what you felt deep inside. And that's why you had grown so fond of him.

As he was telling you a story of his childhood and his meeting with Seto, you felt like an urge.

"Ahh.... If only I could touch you...." you said that out loud and Ardbert stopped to talk, he was surprised but also flustered. He was also fond of you, and had thought the same, but didn't dare to tell you about it.

"...I... it would be nice." He came closer to you and whispered in your ear, "I would love to be touched by you and... be kissed by you."

Your heart skipped a beat and your cheeks were suddenly burning. Did he really said that ? Did you hear well ? You took a quick peek at him... he was serious. He had the eyes of a serious man and there was something almost beastly in his expression... As you were trying to collect you thoughts he sat down like nothing had happened and continued to tel his story. You wanted to touch him even more than before.

None of you ever talked of this moment after this night, but it was not like you had forgotten. On the contrary, you searched for a way to tie a soul to a body while fighting the lightwardens. You didn't have any ideas until you thought when you reminded avout gaius talk about the Solus clones. If you could transfer Ardbert's soul into an empty vessel, he may be able to use it. After all it was strange for a soul to be able to live without a body. And as annoying as he could be, Emet Selch abilities could be useful. He had already saved Y'shtola by finding her in the Lifestream.

"Emet Selch, would you help me save a dear friend ? ", you asked out of curiosity.

"Why would I do that, I already help you enough." He let out a big sigh, it was to much effort. He did a favor once and now he had to do another.

"Because you are a good person ? ", You smiled teasingly at him as you said that. But you didn't know he was so fond of you that it was enough to convince him.

"... It the last time I help you to show you how good I am."

You then asked if he was able to create and empty vessel, he couldn't but, but he could alter the appareance and restore the body of a person who would have no be affected by Light. That's how ascians changed from one body to another after all. It took some time, but Emet Selch created an empty vessel from the body of a dead man and with his ability to manipulate souls put ardbert's soul in the empty body that looked just like him. How did he knew ? You wondered, but is face was telling you to not ask a single question.

Ardbert didn't woke up for days, and he didn't show up either. But as you were coming back for a stroll in crystarium, he had woke up. You stopped for some second before running to hug him. You felt his warmth as soon as your body touched.

"I'm back..." he said, snuggling his head in your neck.

As you heard his deep voice you feel tears falling down you cheeks. You didn't think you would miss him as much as you did.

"Welcome back, Ardbert..."

You take a step back to see his face, he cried too, but you both smile in a joy you hadn't feel for so long. Still craving for his touch and warmth you put your hand to his cheeks and pull him toward you to kiss him. Your heart racing like it never did. He had became so important to you and now ? You had time to make up for all the time you couldn't touch each other.

Both impatient you kissed with more and more intensity as your craving to discover each others body grew and grew. you took of his top to kiss his large body, and caressed his shoulder. Each of his touch felt like a burn. You knew that the night would be the best and the longest night you will have for a while. A hero doesn't have the time to take a break.

Though you don’t remember anything from your past life, he was always there, in each of you lives. You might have never seen him, but he saw, and that’s what mattered the most to him.

A huge dog lover, would kill to protect a dog.

About killing... He would destroy the world if it means saving you. (he already did once after all)

He looks like a bear, probably smells like one too but underestimated handsomness because he look like that generic hero when he isn’t.

He is very worried about you, and follow you everywhere because he genuinely worries about you.

He looks confident, but he is a little awkward when it comes to relationship.
