As reported before, we have expanded our network with Kebun Kumara (Kumara Farm). We have initiated our stronger relation with “FGTL Go Camping” program; an aspiration to give the students a constructive experience to create stronger bond with nature and acquire a more responsible and sustainable lifestyle.
Also in the other way, FGTL Go Camping will also become a place for the students to socialize within different backgrounds from different schools. At the same time, we also plan to plant a stronger sensitivity to nature issues that are really happening around, by stimulating and exercising their ability to analyze and encounter problem within their own responsible and sustainable lifestyle.
So far, we have arranged the program into two big agendas: High School Green Leaders Camp intended for High school students to get an experience of creating a garden, farming and living sustainable life on Sat-Sun, 16-17 September 2017, and Elementary Green Leaders Camp where the farming and gardening tutorial would be given to elementary school students on Saturday, September 23 2017.

These closing weeks were spent by bringing the children to educational garden called Trubus Agroedutainment Center in order to teach the children additional knowledge that is more advanced after a semester of farming activity. The study field was done in two batch, first batch in week 9 and second in week 10. The rest of the week up until now, the schools are off since the semester has ended and the fasting month has started. So for the remaining week after week 10 up until now we are doing internal work such as bettering the program itself, and the network expansion as described above.
We brought up to 50 students from Tunas Global School accompanied by five facilitators from FGTL. The numbers given available were 50 but there were only 46 students attending the field trip- still a great number.
What’s so good about Tunas Global school is that the students came extremely well prepared- the outfits for outings, the equipements they brought. There were less obstacles happening in the field and this well prepared journey actually contributed to a conductive learning atmosphere at the field. The conductor from the farm was also pleased by this preparation and the students themselves that appeared to be more entertained and interested than expectation.
The second time, we brought 10 students from Pondok Cina Elementary School. The numbers were small yet their enthusiasm was oustandingly great. We were accompanied by four facilitators and mediated by the same mediator as the first trip. With them, the atmosphere created was more relaxing and playful yet still conductive. As you can see from the photos, the session was extremely interactive from both parties. The students were enjoying really well.

CAR FREE DAY PREPARATION In order to raise the awareness, the weekend team has prepared an activity which is displaying our program in Car Free Day Jakarta Event where we would display most of our activities and have certain games related to Urban Farming where participants could do and giving free seeds to the CFD Participants. Yet due to the new registration and administration system of the Car Free Day, we faced some delays where we had to reschedule our CFD from 16 April to 14 May –since there was a misunderstanding and the registration process actually took 2 weeks of working days.
WE HAD A STAND DISPLAY DURING OUR CAR FREE DAY IN JAKARTA! Finally the most awaited moment happened! It was quite a day, around 1-15 volunteers attended the event. We started preparing the display since 6 AM and the event started by around 7 AM on May 14 2017. There was quite a lot of people. The event was composed of giving free seedlings and seeds, and games for children. We shared around 100 seedlings and 50 packs of seeds to those who visited our display. The main point of this event was to introduce our program to a wider scope of people, in order for those who are interested in having us in the future would contact us further for spreading this knowledge.
There was a lot of parents who came and suggested us to come to their children’ schools. In the next semester, we’d have four prospective schools that would hold the program. They are Al Azhar Elementary School, Tugu Depok Elementary School, Master Dormitory and Tunas Global School for the extended period.

Tunas Global School, Tuesday April 18 2017
During this week, beside assessing and evaluating the green journals that were given to the students week ago, we decided to start introducing the building-your-own-mini-garden at school. Even though all schools have different progress compared to each other, we still managed to keep each school’s pace close to each other.
After evaluating the green journal, we moved the plants that were planted week ago to bigger containers and started painting the used tires. The moving of the plants should’ve been done this week yet because 80% of the plants were failed due to lack of proper nursery, the activity was delayed.

SDN Pondok Cina 2 (Pondok Cina 2 Elementary School), Saturday, April 15 2017 In this particular school, we continued our activity into making a mini garden at the school. The students in group were asked to bring two used tired, six used paint cans and brushes. Since not all of them followed the instruction of bringing certain stuff, the group of students was divided into a group of painting and decorating the tires and cans, while the other group was moving the planted seeds from the egg cartons into the pots in the garden.
