Like, where the Turks+Rufus find out that the reader is also an Ancient/Cetra like Aerith but instead of being half-Ancient, the reader is like, fully Ancient. If you understand what I mean. How would they react? What would they do?

Sephiroth + “forever”

It’s still early, around dawn, when Sephiroth wakes up. For the first time in what feels like forever, he’s slept through the entire night, unbothered by nightmares or the burning questions that always haunt him when he lies awake at night. But not tonight. Tonight, he just… slept. 

All thanks to the soft pile of warmth that’s tucked into his side and clings to him, buried beneath the blanket. You’re still sound asleep, your breathing quiet and even, your entire body relaxed and calm. Sephiroth is pretty sure that you had your back towards him when you fell asleep the evening prior but at some point during the night, you must’ve snuggled up to him like this. Your hand rests on his chest, your nails lightly digging into his skin, and your legs are tangled with his. 

It will never cease to amaze him how clingy and adorable you can be with someone like him. He’s no saint, he’s done horrible things in the past and will do them in the future, but here you are, trusting him enough to sleep so peacefully right next to him. 

A hint of a smile flashes over Sephiroth’s face as he looks down at your sleeping form, at the way your nose scrunches up when you mumble something incoherent, and he can’t help but brush his fingertips against your cheek. Your mumbles turn into a content sigh as you shift your position and nestle closer to him. 

His smile widens. He can’t remember the last time he felt so… at ease. It’s like none of his concerns, none of his worries matter as long as you are here by his side. In moments like this, Sephiroth just knows that you’re the only thing that keeps him sane in this awful world.

You mumble something again, something that vaguely sounds like his name, and he wraps his arm around you and gently squeezes you against him. If this would be his forever, he’d gladly accept it.

Hey there! <3 Well, aside from the usual chaos at work and everything, I've been well, thanks. But I'm also glad that I found the motivation to write again, I really missed this.

Rufus Shinra + "sun"

You’re the sun. There can’t be another explanation as to why Rufus’s attention shifts to you as soon as you step into a room, why your smile seems to brighten up even the darkest days, why the only word he can think of to describe you is radiant, why he’s so fixed on you every time he sees you. 

It’s not any different when you step into his office this morning. Ever since you started working as his personal assistant, Rufus feels like his life at the company has gotten so much easier – and he’s aware that it’s all in his head (partially, at least), that he’s only trying to justify that he wants you near. It’s funny, really – how he can’t stop himself from developing a serious infatuation with you when he grew up with countless reminders that feelings are for the weak. And yet, here he is, mesmerized by the way you lean against his desk as you speak.

“And these are the latest reports about Avalanche,” you say as you hand him a folder that Rufus places aside with a nod. He’s too transfixed with how your eyes sparkle this morning to focus on Avalanche. “Thanks.”

“Anything else I can do for you?” you ask, your smile causing Rufus’s heart to enthusiastically skip a beat. And no matter how much he wants to tell you to just stay with him, to make this dull day a little brighter with your mere presence, he somehow manages to shake his head. “No, thanks. I’m good.”

You smile again and nod, and then you leave his office, and Rufus is alone with his thoughts once again.

You’re the sun, and he’s the fool who desperately wants to get close to it, even if it means burning himself.

Cloud Strife + “flowers”

In Midgar, flowers are rare. Most of them can’t thrive there, not up on the plate and not down in the slums, no matter how hard you tried to grow them in a pot on your windowsill. In Kalm, though, flowers seem to be pretty much everywhere. They decorate the streets in large pots, they adorn windows and even hang from streetlamps in special baskets. They glow in the morning sun, and they fill the air with the rich aroma of something pure, something sweet. 

They remind Cloud of you. Every time he sets his eyes on the colorful blossoms, he has to stop for a minute because the memories just come rushing back to him. The way your eyes sparkled when you smiled; how you used to giggle when he sneaked up on you while you were tending to your miserable little garden on the windowsill. Every time, he just stands there and stares at the flowers as he thinks of you and wonders if you’d like this place. 

He wishes he could show you everything – the tall observation tower, the untamed and beautiful nature that awaits behind the walls of Kalm, and, of course, the flowers. But you weren’t here, you hadn’t left Midgar together with him and the others – no, you, brave and selfless and compassionate as you were, had decided to stay to help the people in the slums. And while Cloud has always admired you for thinking about others first, he still finds himself wishing that, just this one time, you’d had put yourself first. Because then, you’d be here with him now, admiring all those pretty flowers and laughing as he’d wrap his arm around your waist to pull you closer. 

With a sigh, he looks at the beautiful flower arrangement in the large concrete pot in front of the inn he and the others are staying, and he makes a promise to himself. One that he’s adamant to keep, no matter what it will cost him.

One day, when he’s resolved this mess he found himself in ever since he decided to help Avalanche, he’ll bring you here. And then he will help you to build that peaceful, picture-perfect life you always deserved.
