what people flagrantly misunderstand about culturally iconic ‘logicians’ like spock and sherlock holmes is that they are fuckinggggg annoying. like you canNOT write for nor adapt either of these characters properly without understanding that they are admirable in many ways, yes, but they are repeatedly and gleefully, ON PURPOSE, fucking massive nuisances to literally every sane individual around them, all the time. they love bothering people, they LOVE it, it makes them SO HAPPY, and THAT, not their brilliance, is what makes them the best. spocks a BITCH

Original Star Trek is great.

All of the female crew members are The Most Beautiful Woman You've Ever Seen with great eye make up. All the male crew members are dudes with purposeful and gelled hair and uniform sweaters.

Most of the evil human men are wearing cunty dramatic jackets.

Most of the alien women have impractical shiny dresses with weird cut outs and normally multiple appendages exposed.

And then you just have the weirdest looking freaks they could cook up in the 60s on a budget.

I love this show.

Mythbusters ended too soon. I feel like The Cask Of Amontillado is exactly the myth they would have tested.

Like, figuring out how long it takes the mortar to dry. Finding the maximum amount of time before knocking down a recently built brick wall. Establishing the best place on a recently bricked wall to topple it and escape.

And then, doing all of that while drunk.

Okay so to recap in the past 3ish weeks (though basically 2), a good friend's mother died unexpectedly, an online creator I admired passed suddenly, two of my closest friends lost a sister to cancer after a long battle, a cat I loved and looked after for 14 years declined so quickly so as to be put to sleep, and an actor that was part of a very important formative show for me that I was actively rewatching also passed away.

Oh yeah and my sisters have been out of the country and one got hurt so bad she had to fly back early.

Plus you know, America being such a dumpster fire.

Given how much my compassion and empathy and love and care for everyone meter is always not only on but off the charts I'm having a deeply rough time. and I basically just keep crying and then feeling stupid for crying because most of it's not even happening to me. But I'm kind of a wreck right now.

I just need everything to calm the hell down so I can just stop crying and get some rest.

When you're already exhausted and stressed as hell and then find out one of your aunt's cats, that you've known since the kitten and have looked after multiple times a year since 2011 is going to be put to sleep tomorrow. I was already having a mental breakdown, I didn't need this too.

I am just so sad. I loved that cat. I'm just so sad for a lot of reasons right now and I feel selfish for being sad and like I'm not allowed my own exhaustion and sadness cuz other people have it worse right now And I'm just having the trickle down.
