Hello and who'd have thought we'd be here?

Third fic! I made it! (I'll only post the fourth on here once it's finished so I'm not a tease)

This one may be my biggest disappointment? Very conflicting feelings. it's the longest fic I ever wrote, while also being the first one I posted while writing it, which I generally don't enjoy doing.

I had such high hopes for this one bc I really liked my concept, but adhd bested me again, and I lost all interest near the end, meaning i rushed it. I'm still upset at myself for that one, bc it could've been great, but isn't. Anyway, it's fine. I've dealt with it (I haven't)

So, yeah... Catch you in the rye!

Second fic incoming! (I just remembered i can schedule posts, so I'm doing that.)

This may be my most popular fic in terms of interaction. I'm still quite pleased with it, I think (haven't re-read it in forever) but people seem to like it. My main problem is that I tend to start things with great enthusiasm, and then get distracted and/or bored. Shoutout to my ADHD. Still, this fic seems to be relatively well liked if the comments are to be believed.

I wish I had spent a little more time on it, bc i think I could've really made it into something special if I'd taken some more time to edit and push through.

Okay, hear me out tho

A Regulus and Peter ship, where they start dating at Hogwarts after Sirius runs away. They date in secret. No one ever finds out.

Regulus, desperate to stay close to his brother, without actually staying close to his brother, and lonely for the feeling of someone who sees him and prefers him over Sirius. (Always feeling second best, y’know?)

Peter wanting to feel more important/impactful in his own life, bc the Marauders can be quite overshadowing and wanting to be more like Sirius. Finding Sirius’ eyes and admiration on him through Regulus. Like a placebo.

The two of them finding a sort of comfort in each other and understanding how invisible the other feels, contrary to their social position (being part of the Marauders/being heir to the Black Family respectively).

Peter being the one to join the Death Eaters to protect Regulus, while also trying to be a spy for Dumbledore, in some sort of saviour complex/hero delusion.

Regulus seeing Peter slowly fall for Voldemort’s praise and power. Worshipping him up close after fearing him from afar. A stark opposite to how Regulus experiences Voldemort. Admiring him from afar, but becoming uneasy and fearful when he gets closer to him bc he sees how unhuman and cruel he is. While Peter only sees his power and status.

Regulus confiding in Peter about wanting out, and having made a mistake. Peter finally feeling respected and revered.

Peter following Regulus to the cave and being the one to kill Regulus after he sees the locket still in the basin (he didn’t see Kreacher leaving with the real one) to solidify his place at Voldemorts side. Choosing power and status over everything bc he finally feels seen and important.

But isn’t the real tragedy that, given the choice, both of them would choose Sirius over each other?

Subsequently meaning that, between the three of them, no one would pick Regulus

Whenever I see the name Marlene McKinnon I wonder how people pronounce it in their head. Bc I cannot, for the life of me, pronounce Marlene as ‘Marleen’, as you would in English. I have to pronounce it as you would in German, meaning with the last e. Think ‘Marlene Dietrich.’

Also look at her. She is not a ‘Marleen’, that does not seem like her energy at all. She is a ‘Marlene’ with e!

Regulus Black deserves to be loved loudly!

Someone who showers him with love and adoration. Someone unafraid to hold his hand in public, isn’t scared of pda and loves proudly. Someone who softens him up when he feels like he needs to be cold and distant. Someone warm.

Someone like James Potter.

James Potter deserves to be loved quietly!

Someone who doesn’t flaunt him like he’s an accessory, who doesn’t act like dating him is some kind of accomplishment. Someone who’ll hold him when he’s tired, and passes little notes, and murmurs sweet nothings to him when it’s late at night.

Someone like Regulus Black.

Why have I never seen a headcanon in which straight Regulus survived the cave, went into hiding, magically changed his appearance, started going by something pretentious like, oh idk, Xenophilius Lovegood, married Pandora and had a kid named Luna?

I mean, nothing is going to stop the Jegulus agenda I’ve got going on, but would that be such a crazy concept?
