gabe had never had any pets growing up; his father didn’t tolerate animals, unless it was during hunting season. he was allergic to cats, and indifferent toward dogs- except when their front paws were on his suit, then he was rather annoyed. turning to the young woman with an exasperated expression on his features, he awkwardly patted the dogs head to get him to get down. “i’d say that’s a wise move. otherwise, he’s going to be a menace to this town, and you by extension,” gabe remarked with a wrinkled nose, taking off his suit jacket and folding it over his arm before loosening his tie. “i’ll send it out to be cleaned, don’t worry. when would you even find the time? you’re either teaching or you’re dancing,” the man chuckled a little, noting her eccentric outfit that she had found fit to walk a dog in. she was a strange little thing, but she amused him and so he kept her around, finding it refreshing to be around a female he had no intention of sleeping with. she reminded him of his younger sister, who he hadn’t seen in many years, which was both comforting and bittersweet.

siobhan had vowed to get a dog when she grew up. usually her “when i grow up” dreams didn’t actually relate to how old she was. but when ballet stopped being her only guiding focus, that was when she would start acting on the dreams. and since her time in the company was on hold, and she was no longer pointed towards the north star of becoming a principal dancer, she figured now was a good time to get a puppy. “i’m already a menace to this town.” she grinned. sure, she was quiet and timid, but she was one of the very few people who could wrangle the young girls of saltlight point. and with that, came the perks of being listened to by children. she figures she could sick any one of those little girls on anyone, and they would terrorize the way only young children could. to them, siobhan was the arbiter of dreams. big city ballet company experience, variation choreography, in those girl’s minds, she was the only person who understood what they wanted. she was also the only person who could make sure they get it.  “somebody needs to make sure that the kids in this town reach their full potential, and there’s never been quite enough time for that.” siobhan didn’t love the feeling she got from many of the parents she worked with. like they wanted their children to be wildly successful, but had no interest in what they wanted or why they danced. they could throw all the money at pointe shoes they wanted, but they never understood the importance of strengthening ankles to get there.

gabe had been meeting with his campaign manager all morning, getting everything perfectly in place to announce his run for mayor, but after hours of meetings, he needed some air. from growing up with disposable wealth at his fingertips to living wildly through his college years, he still wasn’t quite accustomed to the whole suit and tie, office and paperwork lifestyle that every adult eventually found themselves immersed in. he wasn’t paying attention, checking the stock market on his phone, so when a dog jumped onto him, the man groaned and stepped back. “jesus, you need to keep a better hold on your animal, if i were a child, i would’ve been taken down,” gabe sputtered with a furrowed brow, regarding the redhead with annoyance. “what if he had run out into traffic? it’d be far worse than a ruined suit,” he added.

mojo was causing a ruckus but she couldn’t exactly complain. definitely not when he was putting such a smile on her face. the pup was obviously adorable, and he was fun. which in turn, made her fun. she thought he disrupted her put together, bunhead image just enough. but when the dog had his front paws up on gabe, she felt almost bad. she definitely didn’t mean to ruin his suit.
“ i guess it’s good i’m taking him to obedience training then, huh?”
her laugh practically falls from between her lips, because if she’s honest, the suit and tie remind her too much of the board of directors at the company for her to keep her composure. she had all of those men wrapped around her finger, or her ankle, with a well placed port de bras and a high extension. so to see gabe in the same getup, it almost made him look like one of them. once revered as men in high places, now evidenced to be just as weak and docile as every other man in her industry. realistically, it was the women, the ballet mistresses you needed to worry about.
“ i can definitely clean up your suit if you need me to.”

she was a liar if she said she didn’t feel like an i d i o t. she was walking mojo her german shepherd pup down the street, completely overdressed for the weather. between her legwarmers, her furry ugg boots, her sweatpants, and her ballet skirt overtop, from the hip down she looked c r a z y. from the hip up, she was wearing an old uniform leotard, from her intensive at the royal ballet, with a mismatched ballet wrap sweater. but still, she had to walk her dog. so while she walked mojo to puppy school, for training, she had her bag slung over her shoulder. working at graciosa gave her the opportunity to work her variations, to get back into it, and to choreograph. so she was off, to choreograph her spin on lilac fairy for her students. but mojo had another idea. suddenly, he’s jumping on someone.
“ oh–” she laughed, “ sorry about him!”

hi everyone! i’m sami, and this is my chaotic nice girl, siobhan! some spark notes on her:
sun pieces, moon gemini, rising taurus
23, closet bisexual strong female preference but nobody needs to know
ballet teacher for pre-professional students, former professional ballerina who is on leave from her corps de ballet contract
naive but not: always the optimist, heavily sheltered, used to be SUPER mean and cutthroat, starting over in saltlight point means that she can pretend it never happened
softspoken, sounds sweet and nice with everything she says
surface level, will not get deep about anything without being pushed
fake happy all the time, does not believe that she is sad or that anyone should know about it
my tumblr is being stupid so like this for a starter, or to plot! im happy to be here :)

Have you heard about SIOBHAN ORION? I hear they’re from RALEIGH but have lived in Saltlight Point for 6 Months. From what I’ve seen, they’re a bit NAIVE, ALTRUISTIC, and SWEET, and I think they work as a dance instructor at GRACIOSA. They seem to be THE OPTIMIST, & they’re inspired by BETTE WHITLAW.
HERE’S THEIR STORY.
Siobhan Caoinhe Orion was born on February 14th, 1998. She entered the world like a breath of fresh air, determined to remain that way. Her parents, Malachi Orion and Caoimhe McGee, were gentle souls, who expected her to behave in the same manner. Both of her parents were successful business people in the city, and after a few short months of domestic bliss in the big city, they moved out to Wake Forest, NC.  They began working from home to take care of her all before her second birthday. When Siobhan was just a tot, she was enrolled in the Carolina ballet’s primary aged classes. She began dancing when she was two, dance became the only language she knew how to speak. Just like her older sister before her, Siobhan was destined to be a dancer.
Altruistic at heart, and incredibly soft spoken, Siobhan was nothing if not a favorite in her classes. She worked incredibly hard, and something that started as an after school activity evolved. Siobhan was enrolled in the pre-professional training regime at 14, and began a 25 hour per week training routine. She was also enrolled in an accelerated schooling environment, so she learned to cope with pressure. There wasn’t a time where you could find her without the satin ribbons of her pointe shoes poking out of her bag, or needle in hand trying to sew on an elastic while getting something else done. This was something she was serious about. But that didn’t stop the feeling of living in her older sister’s shadow. She knew that Graine had better extensions, better lines, her reputation proceeded Siobhan. The two fierce redheads headed up the group of “naturals” in the Carolina pre-professional program, but Siobhan would never measure up to her sister. It always lingered in the back of her mind.
But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for Siobhan at that time. Ballet was a cut-throat blood sport, and if you weren’t willing to sacrifice, you’d never succeed. In her mind, that looked like calories, restriction, and hours spent in front of mirrors analyzing. She wasn’t always so sweet, when it came down to the bloody and brutal nature of the sport. There were quite a few things she had done that she regretted, justified as friendly competition at the time. From giving incorrect call times, to the one brutal fight she had had in school. But none so much as her own self destruction. When she was sixteen, she was forced to take a year off and find treatment for her complex relationship to food, to dance, and to life.  She loved ballet, but a lot of the time, it didn’t feel like ballet loved her back. She was sent off to a residential inpatient program, to repent to the ballet gods for her sins.
When Siobhan returned from her time in program, she got right back into ballet. She completed the pre-professional program, and took a spot at the Carolina ballet, in the corps de ballet. She was living her dream. But slowly those old habits started to creep back up on her, and Siobhan knew that this was a risk, a dream, she wasn’t willing to sacrifice herself for. She felt like ballet had broken up with her, and it broke her heart. She spent six months, lost, lonely, and isolated. So she moved out to Saltlight Point, in hopes of finding something else to bring her life meaning.
She had applied to Graciosa. Of course she had. But she never expected a call from them. She never expected them to ask her to teach. She had applied for a desk position, but she reveled in the opportunity. Now she teaches for their pre-professional program, and comes home to her beachfront apartment. Siobhan didn’t know what the good life truly meant, but she felt like she was living it. Sure, she had only been in Saltlight Point for a few months, but it was a nice way to live. A nice place to be.
Altruistic to the core. Will help anyone in need. Often finds herself being taken advantage of because she is so giving and compassionate. Hard worker, incredibly dedicated to people and commitments. Whimsical, tries to see the beauty in everything. Ethereal, walks with grace and dignity. Childish. Often enjoys children’s activities. Ultimately: she kind of acts like a Disney princess at all times. Big bambi energy. She wasn’t always that way, but she makes it a point to be these days.
