On Sh.ili there is a creature called the Akul. Killing one is seen as a right of passage, both Sh.aak and Ah.soka have killed one and we know this due to their traditional Akul headdress as only those who have killed an Akul can wear its teeth. Now sources are limited on this creature past the fact it’s used as a coming of age trial. What we do know is it’s a large quadruped predator capable of taking out entire settlements if left unchecked. It is implied that they are carnivorous as well and as such burying the dead on Sh.ili isn’t really advisable.

Building a tomb is a possibility, but that seems unlikely to me as it would have to be done for everyone and generally would take up a lot of space, not to mention high building cost. To prevent their dead from being scavenged it seems likely to me that cremation would be the most popular way to death wth their dead.

I know it’s Sunday and I should wanna post sin but all I can think about is the culture on Sh.ili and how a carnivorous species’s sense of spirituality could develop over the years. How they’d address the fact that they must kill to survive and how that could be troublesome for some as they grow to be more empathetic.

Side note but I also keep thinking about their relationship with their own dead. Of course burial is out of the question so the traditions and myths concerning death are likely different than many in the western world.

To.gruta blood appears black when you first see it, taking on a reddish purple hue when spread thin over pale surfaces. It is also particularly prone to staining.

11. who is the most underrated character?

Most Star Wars characters are somewhat underrated, so I’ll be somewhat biased and just go with the one I feel never gets explored. Master Luminara Unduli! She’s a Jedi MASTER who doesn’t sit on the council, while the whole Bariss plotline is racist af you can’t deny that she’s an engaging character. Luminara trained her so we have lots there. Depending on when you put her age she could be contemporary to Obi-Wan. That whole Era is fascinating! She was snarky and controlled. She was humble and proud all at once and seems to be one of the few adults in Star Wars who openly and readily admits her faults. 

OH, AND SHE WILLINGLY WALKED INTO HER OWN EXECUTION LIKE?? GIVE US MORE?

12. do you care who Rey's parents are?

Not even a little bit. I honestly couldn’t care less if I tried.

I feel like the whole ‘who is Rey’s parent’s’ thing was executed poorly. On top of being somewhat of a pointless mystery imo, it was just mangled between the movies?

I’m actually fairly at peace with most deaths in the series, but the one that sticks out for me is Ka.nan. I feel that the end of Re.bels was sloppy, and I just can’t with it right now.
