Fish by Chiura Obata (1936)
Chiura Obata is a Japanese American artist most known for his landscape portraiture. He’s one of my favorite Asian American artists—i love the way he blends aesthetics of Japanese art with American nature and landscapes. In these pieces I think he does such a beautiful job of showing all the colors contained in the skin of a fish!

Silly fish spotlight! Chaunacops fish
Almost looks it's made of felt--Chaunacops is a genus of marine ray-finned fishes belonging to a family referred to as "the sea toads." Their home is the Indo-West Pacific, southeastern Pacific and western Atlantic oceans. Little is known about them, they live in the deep sea.
