obi-wan and anakin were doomed to love each other and be completely unable to communicate that to each other effectively.

this is such good characterization: anakin saying too much without any thought; obi-wan saying too little with entirely too much thought.

the tragedy is that we expect them to meet in the middle at some point and yet...

Ahsoka, Anakin, and Familial Relationships

So, recently @meandmyechoes​ made a great post about Ahsoka and if she fits better as Anakin’s little sister or first daughter. Since I am an absolute sucker  and solidly in the eldest daughter camp, I’ve been thinking about why it is that the Ahsoka and Anakin relationship can so easily fall into both a sibling and familial relationship. Ultimately the conclusion I came to is 1) well-written and realistic relationships often look different in different contexts, 2) if you asked Anakin and Ahsoka what their relationship was like, I don’t think they’d always give you the same answer, and 3) at different points in TCW the relationship exists in completely different ways. So, below you will find my very wordy deconstruction of Ahsoka and Anakin’s relationship from both of their POVs, as well as an exploration of how some of Ahsoka’s other relationships fit within the context of hers with Anakin. 

Also, I apologize in advance because this is obscenely long; I tried to break it up with gifs, but I don’t think it helped…
