i love hotch hehe, if you do to - go read my first ever fic!!!
paint puddle (aaron hotchner)

˚₊‧꒰ა. .໒꒱ ‧₊˚ your son got himself into a little pickle (1.1k words).
˚₊‧꒰ა. .໒꒱ ‧₊˚ fem!reader, no warnings, just fluff and lots of paint!

it was silent.
too silent, considering the fact you had an energetic 6 year old boy somewhere within the 4 walls you called your home. normally you’d consider silence a gratitude, a break from the noise that constantly surrounded you. yet, now you’re blessed with your son, you find peace in the noise, the sound of mischievous laughter and giggles filled you with ease. so silence was indeed a rare occurrence.
you looked up from your phone, fingers hovering over the keyboard as you paused your typing. you observed your surroundings, the freshly painted walls of your living room still allowed the scent of paint to linger and the new pictures you hung scattered across them. your husband had finally found the time amongst his busy work schedule to give your house a fresh paint, one that livened up the house, especially with the spring sun gently shining in through the large georgian windows.
your eyes lingered on the new photos, particularly the one displaying your most recent beach day with your little family and your husband’s work colleagues. your sons light blue waterproof bucket hat sat crooked on his bed of untamed brown hair. his hands grasping his new green bucket and spade, kindly gifted by his aunt penny. the smile across his face was priceless, his baby teeth grinning so big his dimples came out in full force. behind him, aaron was knelt down his his hand holding your son’s waist to steady him. you were beside him, with your head in the crease of his neck holding a closed eye smile. penelope and morgan stood behind the three of you holding up their ice cream cones whilst jj and henry knelt beside you smiling happily toward the camera. emily, reid and rossi were also stood behind, rossi with his beaker of wine, emily with tumbler cup of homemade lemonade and reid with his overly large hat clasping a book.
‘that was such a good day.’ you though, smiling softly to yourself. your phone long abandoned as you reminisce on the day. interrupting your train of thought however, was a rather loud clang from somewhere in your house. your head whipped around and eyes strained on the door that led to your kitchen. accompanying the clang came a sudden, “oopsie”. that all too familiar voice of your son made you quickly stand and jog towards the closed door.
pushing the door open, you can face to face with the small boy, on the floor, covered in paint. your mouth dropped open as you try to hide you giggle that had escaped your open mouth.
“baby…what happened? why are you covered in paint?” you spoke softly and despite the attempts to cover your laughter, it rang through the air in between each word. you knelt down to access the situation, it was obvious he wasn’t hurt…despite the face his entire bottom half and chest was covered in light grey paint.
“i tried to help daddy with the bathroom! he ran out of paint and i went to get him a new one…this one was open already…” he spoke in a murmured tone, looking down at his paint soaked shorts that no longer looked their cargo green colour.
“oh sweetheart, let’s get you cleaned up, mhm? then we can both get daddy a new paint can.” you replied to his small voice, offering you hand to help him walk out of the puddle of paint that had accumulated on your tile floor. he quickly looked up, grabbed your hand and began stepping out of his paint puddle. just then, a figure came into the doorway across from you which connected the kitchen to the hallway. aaron stood there for a second before his mouth broke into a smirk, trying to hide his own laughter at his son’s current situation.
“i thought i heard a bang. you okay buddy?” he spoke softly as he walked further into the room to join the 2 of you, careful to avoid the mess on the floor. your son looked up and his face dropped slightly.
“i’m sorry daddy! i tried to help! it dropped!” he said in a rushed tone and tears began appearing on the corners of his eyes.
“hey hey, accidents happen. it’s alright, how about you go wash up with mummy and i’ll clear it?” aaron’s reply was instant, quickly meeting the 2 of you and crouching down to meet his son’s gaze. your son nodded gently and looked back up towards you. “i need a shower.” he pointed out blankly. aaron and yours eyes met giving each other a pointed look, giggles still escaping your mouth.
“i think you do. let’s go baby, we can have lunch after you’re cleaned up.” you explained to the small boy, “why don’t you go upstairs and i’ll be right behind you.” with that, the boy took off and ran up the stairs (you found dried paint on the bannisters for weeks after).
“he gets his clumsiness from you.” aaron stated, turning to the side to grab the role of tissues that would hopefully help clean the mess which resided on the floor.
“oi!” you exclaimed, gently smacking his arm as you held a pouted lip, “i like to think that we’re both unlucky people.”
“mhm are you unlucky or just have butterfingers?” he retorted quickly, his smirk only grew.
“both…” you responded under your breath before leaning in to kiss his cheek, “i don’t mind cleaning this of you wanna go back to painting the bathroom.”
“it’s okay, dried paint isn’t the best on these tiles, i’ll clean up and then i can go pick up lunch?” he said giving your forehead a peck back.
“sounds like a plan, i’m really craving that salt beef bagel from benny’s.” you pondered on your last sentence before a muffled voice calls you from upstairs.
“mummy i need help! my top is stuck on my head!”
you and aaron both laugh once again before you pull away and make your way up the stairs eyeing the beginning of the paint trail your son so gracefully left.
“benny’s it is. i’ll even grab the rasberry and white chocolate cookies you love so much.” aaron states as he goes to grab the mop from the cupboard under the stairs.
“you know me so well!” you call back as now you’re face to face with a headless pain covered boy, who’s attempts to wiggle his way out of his top make him look like a grey fish.
“alright baby, let’s get you cleaned up.” your son’s wiggling continued as you pulled the top off his head with a soft pull. his face appeared again with a smile as he began to giggle as you started his bath. the smell of raspberry and vanilla soon filled the air as bubbles soon began forming in hoards on the water’s surface. with this, your son jumped in, began creating bubble beards and his laughter filled the room.
it’s not silent anymore, but you wouldn’t have it any other way <3

ah! my very first fic, i’m very happy with how this turned out but she’s very small since i’m testing the waters to see how much i liked it! (spoiler: i do i love it hehe) aaron of course had to be my first ever!

my new jack fic is up!
the great squirrel chase (jack abbot)

˚₊‧꒰ა. .໒꒱ ‧₊˚ your dog has an unusual way of making friends (1.3k words).
˚₊‧꒰ა. .໒꒱ ‧₊˚ younger fem!reader (the younger bit isn’t implied that clearly though), no warnings, small depiction of the pitt but just a big fluff!
˚₊‧꒰ა. .໒꒱ ‧₊˚ i wrote this after it happened with my own dog (see the 3rd picture! isn’t he a cutie) love you milo hehe🤍

“milo! milo?” a voice echoed through the park and the once quiet morning stroll for jack had been interrupted.
the sun had just started to rise which wrapped the area in a soft, golden stillness. this allowed a dim light to shine through the thinning canopies of the amber, red, and gold leaves which hung on the overbearing trees. the air was cool, but warm enough for a jumper to keep him from feeling the bitterness of the morning breeze. mist wrapped around the trees like a ribbon and the smell of fresh morning entered his nose. the birds had began their songs, the odd coo or call appearing once in a while amongst the sparsely covered branches.
early morning walks were not unusual for jack, the sounds of nature largely contrasted the sounds of the busy, chaotic er he called work. the world slowed down around him, as the cool air brushing against his face became the gentle reset button that brought him back to reality. these walks became accustom, recommended by robby as a way of “becoming one with nature”. here he didn’t have to worry about the constant sound of machines beeping, a coding patient or having to deal with over protective parents; it was just him, his coffee and the park.
until it wasn’t.
“milo! milo, please get back here!” a worried shout entered his ears causing his head to turn to the sound of the cries and abandon his previous thoughts. his eyes caught sight of a brown blob, darting in and around the misty trees like a ping pong ball. appearing from the bushes behind came a young women, hair falling wildly from her ponytail and eyes filled with tears which glistened in the morning sun. the blob stopped his ping pong ball action allowing for jack to see what it was. ah, a dog. a very hyper dog.
the dog he assumed to be called ‘milo’ had a tail wagging the speed of light, panting heavily with fluffy ears covered to leaves and little white balls. this didn’t last long as a squirrel had barrelled its way down a tree and straight into his eyesight. a bark rung out as the squirrel then decided their choice to come down from the tree was indeed an awful one and ran towards where jack had stopped. as fate had tempted; the dog ‘milo’ continued his chase despite his recent failed attempt to catch the squirrel previously.
the women, who now was bent over, hands on knees attempting to catch her breath. her leggings were covered in mud and whatever nature had decided to place on the floor. out her mouth came an out of breath, “ milo! please! leave the squirrel alone”, a whiney undertone could be sensed by jack, his mouth slowly turning into a slight grin. he took a look back towards the brown blob scurrying closer and closer, when he took notice of the pastel blue lead that dragged hazardously behind it.
funnily enough he had been in a situation like this behind, a similar memory from his childhood encased his mind from when his neighbours dog had gotten loose after see a fox in its front garden. he braced himself, as the squirrel dashed quickly in between his legs and up the tree behind him. not a second later, the blob followed, managing to get between jack’s legs for his instincts to take over and gasp the flying lead.
unfortunately for him, the coffee he held in his left hand was sacrificed and fell to the ground, spilling on the crisp leaves leaving a brown puddle. the dog let out a small yelp at its sudden obstruction and stop to his chase but persisted to bark at the tree the squirrel had made its new home.
“omg! thank you so much! you lifesaver” how ironic, a lifesaver? maybe he couldn’t escape that word even outside the er. the women who was once again panting, almost in unison with the dog which had paused his barking to look at his tired owner’s arrival. he could see her face more clearly now, the tears had dropped to her cheeks which were flushed by the strenuous chase she’d just concluded. his smile grew the slightest bit wider as he shook his head and handed the lead back to her.
“it’s not a problem, slippery little guy you’ve got there.” taking the lead back, the women sighed deeply and look down at the dog (who’s tail was still wagging energetically) to meet his eyes. jack could appreciate how the sun caught her hair even though it was a hot mess, still however it was cute framing her face in a complimentary way.
“he has a habit of wanting to make friends with everything.” she replied to his observation before kneeing down and hugging the dog. “you need to stop doing that milo, you scared me half to death!” in response the dog licked her face as if to express his apologies and buried his head into her neck crease.
“well he’s safe now. glad to have helped.” jack took in the scene below him. after a few seconds, the women came back up and finally met his eyes.
‘fuck. he’s good looking.’ she thought as her eyes ran over his face. the slight breeze blew his salt and pepper curls and his mouth was drawn into a small smile. her heart pounded and her breath caught.
“uh- yeah, thank you so much! i promise he usually listens when i call out to him!” she stumbled out, waving her unoccupied hand around as if to calm herself down. jack laughed and bent to let the still panting dog of the head, ruffling his fluffy ears.
“is that what you say to all your dog catching hero’s?” he mused looking up at her with a slight laugh. at this, her face flushed even more.
“what?! no! i promise! really! he’s usually a good boy! aren’t you milo?” she rushed out gesturing to her furry friend.
“i’m just messing with you sweetheart” he spoke again in that low voice as he came back to his full height. “gave me some entertainment for my walk.” he was chucking again. the name caused her head to spin, the clogs in her head paused as her eyes looked everywhere but his, finding his once full coffee cup on the floor.
“please don’t tell me that’s yours?! i’m sorry!” she spilled out, pointing to the coffee massacre on the grass. jack looked around and saw the cause of her outburst.
“it’s not an issue, i can always get another one. if anything, milo here is helping me cut down. i drink too much of the stuff anyways.” he smiled back at her, offering some relief for her.
“still, let me get you another, even if it’s decaf. i know a place like 5 minutes away and they do the best breakfast sandwiches! it’s the least i can do.” she replied hurriedly. jack thought for a moment before nodding and agreeing.
“who am i to deny a pretty girl like you mhm milo, looks like you made a friend after all.” he responded looking back at the dog and stuck out his hand.
“i’m jack.” she looked it and recited her own name back, shaking it simultaneously. “well let’s go try these sandwiches that are supposedly the best.” eyes widening in return, she looked to her left and gestured the direction with her head. scoffing and laughing at his previously made comment.
“oh they definitely are the best. just wait and see.” she spoke in an amused tone and wiggled her head in emphasis. chuckling back, jack followed her as they began their walk down the leaf littered path, towards the exit of the park and towards the now awake city. the sun had now reached a point which allowed the full affect of its warmth. the bird songs, now in full bloom reigned in and out the air and the soft breeze wrapped the couple in a comfortable blanket. milo now happily trotting beside her, let out a few barks whilst his eyes continued to observe the world around him. (always on the hunt for his next friend - human or squirrel.)

i’m tempted to write a part 2…do i smell my first ever series (maybe)
