It’s time for that post that no admin enjoys making, but we’re sure everybody saw it coming. With the roleplay never fully taking off (we’re unsure as to whether this is to do with the plot, us running it, etc. but either way, we take responsibility) it has been difficult to drum up much interest, and as of late, the dash has slowed way down.
With that said, we see it coming as no surprise that we have decided to close Flashing Lights at this time. While remaining members are very welcome to continue your plots as 1x1s, etc., we ask that nobody takes the plot and makes it into a group of their own.
The OOC blog will remain up for anybody who would like to use it, but this will be the last post here at FLRP. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you all for your dedication to the group. We hope to be able to write with all of you in the future, and wish you the best of luck in all of your endeavors, both roleplay and otherwise.

To the anon in our inbox, if you’d like to message us off anon, we’d be happy to speak with you privately, but our answer to your question would be incredibly lengthy, with many variables, so we’d prefer not to post all of the what if scenarios on the main page! Thank you!

ELEANOR PEARCE ➝ THIRD SIBLING
AS YOU RECALL, YOU KNOW I LOVE TO SHOW OFF
◈ FULL NAME: Eleanor Neve Pearce. ◈ GENDER: Female. ◈ PRONOUNS: She/Her. ◈ AGE: 26. (January 22nd). ◈ BIRTH ORDER: Third. Twin to Second Pearce. ◈ HOMETOWN: Seattle, Washington. ◈ CURRENT LOCATION: Los Angeles, California. ◈ JOB ROLE: Television Actress. ◈ SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Heterosexual. ◈ ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: Heteromantic. ◈ FACECLAIM: Katie McGrath.
BUT YOU NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD TAKE IT THIS FAR
Eleanor Neve grew up always looking forward to the next adventure. Her family was constantly on the move, and running a camping supply store was definitely an asset. As a young child, she always found a way to make friends with whatever animals she came across, and she distinctly remembers being quite upset after her parents made her stay away from a bear in Yellowstone. That was the same trip she insisted on hiking in her Snow White costume from the previous Halloween. She loved playing make-believe, and never really grew out of it.
She was an incredibly intelligent child. Her parents would read to her every night, until one day when she was almost four they found her in the store pointing to the bug spray and exclaiming, “Bugs, bugs!” From that point on, she wanted to read everything she could get her hands on. Her mother loves to tell the story of a trip to the local library when she was seven. Already at a college reading level, she went straight to the biography section and picked out a book titled The Secrets of Marie Antoinette. Deciding her young child did not need to know whatever secrets that woman had, she was made to pick out a different book. And what did she choose? A seven inch thick biography of Napoleon. She read the whole thing in a month.
School was always a breeze for her, and her parents probably would have pushed her to go ahead and skip a few grades if it weren’t for her love of her theatre troupe. The first week of sixth grade she auditioned for the fall play, and got her first part. She only had one line, but she loved going to the rehearsals and seeing how everything came together. From that point on she was hooked. While her parents weren’t necessarily thrilled that theatre was her chosen hobby, they knew they were never going to convince her to change her mind. And so she continued with her acting “career” all through middle school and high school, helping her school earn awards at district and state levels for their shows.
She knew she loved acting, but she also knew that it probably wasn’t a practical career choice. So when she started applying for colleges her junior year, she always said she was going to major in English, but had to make sure the school had an excellent theatre program so she could at least minor in a field she loved. After earning a 34 on the ACT, she realized she could write her ticket almost anywhere and decided on UCLA. Besides the fact that they had a fantastic theater program, they also had film, and her brother already lived in the city. It didn’t get much better than that.
She worked her ass off all four years, and ended up graduating with an English major and triple minors in Theater, Film, and Spanish. She figured if all else failed, she might as well be able to teach as much as possible. Thankfully, all else didn’t fail. She auditioned for her first role, a victim in a crime show, and from there it’s been relatively smooth sailing. Most recently she’s been working in D.C. Comics TV, and though she loves it, she’s really hoping to get into movies. She needs a change.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW? FLASHING LIGHTS, LIGHTS
Growing up in the most hipster part of the country definitely influenced Nora’s aesthetic. She is one of those girls who can seamlessly transition from a t-shirt and boyfriend jeans to a vintage gown and no one would bat an eye. She loves anything and everything comfortable, and you can find her at premiers in TOMS just as often as in heels.

Would you guys be able to like make a section that has where everyone's current location is? rather then having to look through all the bios
Elissa and I were just discussing this and we agree, that would make things much easier. We’ll set up a page that lists everyone’s locations and have that up, ASAP. Thanks for the suggestion, anon!

CURRENT LOCATIONS!
We have decided we’re going to change the setting of the roleplay. While your character is very welcome to still be based in Los Angeles (we’re sure a lot will due to their professions), we are going to allow people to be based elsewhere, too.
However, we have been running the game on the assumption that people were connected to one another’s accounts because of their shared location (Los Angeles), so all we ask is that your character has spent some time in LA to have become connected with the other blogs. Outside of that, they’re free to be wherever you want them to be.
We have added a ‘current location’ section to the application, and will be adding it to the biographies, too. If you would like to change your character’s current location, please feel free to message us and we’ll update that for you ASAP.
Other than that, please like this post to let us know you’ve read it, and continue to enjoy the game!

JEREMY ST. JAMES ➝ FIRST SIBLING
AS YOU RECALL, YOU KNOW I LOVE TO SHOW OFF
◈ FULL NAME: Jeremy Alexander St. James. ◈ GENDER: Male. ◈ PRONOUNS: He/Him. ◈ AGE: 26. (April 9th). ◈ BIRTH ORDER: First. ◈ HOMETOWN: London, England. ◈ CURRENT LOCATION: New York City, New York. ◈ JOB ROLE: Broadway Actor. ◈ SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual. ◈ ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: Panromantic. ◈ FACECLAIM: Jonathan Groff.
BUT YOU NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD TAKE IT THIS FAR
TW; Alcoholism, Tw; Depression
Jeremy has always been the ‘golden child.’ When he was little, he was the one who was always making new friends, talking to the adults that always seemed to be over at the house, and trying to be the center of attention. From a young age, Jeremy showed talent in acting and singing and begged his parents to put him in classes so that he could continue doing these things that he loved. His parents agreed, but only on one condition: If they were going to keep paying, Jeremy was going to have to keep his grades at a 3.5 GPA or better. This was not only so that Jeremy could get ahead in life, but also so that the St. James’ could brag about how smart their child was. So, Jeremy, determined to continue doing what he loved, worked hard all through his school career in order to keep the lessons coming in.
When Jeremy turned ten, he ended up getting an audition for Noah in the Broadway show, Caroline, Or Change and got the part. The audition came from a friend of the family’s who had seen Jeremy perform and suggested that they let him audition. That one connection changed everything that Jeremy was going to do from that point on. After being in Caroline, Or Change, Jeremy continued to audition for roles and performing as much as he could. He went on to perform in Peter Pan, Sweeney Todd, and his final role was Tommy in Music Man. At the time that Jeremy was playing Tommy, he turned eighteen. As Jeremy was facing the fact that he was turning eighteen, he realized that there wasn’t as much fun in performing any more. There was just something that was missing that had been there before, and it was making him miserable.
Jeremy decided at eighteen to get out of the Broadway scene and to just 'live his life’ for a bit. He decided to move to California, wanting the warmer weather and supposedly nicer people. So, Jeremy said good-bye to his family and moved to San Francisco, California with dreams of doing… something. Not sure what his other talents were other than singing and dancing. So, not sure what exactly he was going to do there, Jeremy ended up getting a job as a waiter for a while, trying to find what it was that he wanted to do because he lost the spark that had driven him to theatre in the first place. While there, Jeremy tried everything he could think of in order to get a job. He tried to work in an office for a bit through a temp agency, but that ended up with him getting fired within a few weeks because he had no passion for it. He tried to volunteer at a hospital to see if something in the medical field was something he could get into, but he ended up just feeling bad whenever he had to go into the hospital. He even took an introductory computer science class at the local community college. No matter what, Jeremy just couldn’t find his passion.
Feeling completely void of direction with his life, Jeremy decided that if he wasn’t going to be successful, he was at least going to have fun while being unsuccessful. This meant that Jeremy was usually at a club, almost every night of the week. Using a fake I.D. he had gotten, Jeremy usually went to different bars and clubs, getting horribly drunk and trying to fill the void that was missing in his life. But soon, even the alcohol wasn’t doing quite what Jeremy wanted, so he turned to hooking up with random people at the club. Men, women, it didn’t matter. He just wanted that quick fuck and that rush of dopamine that came with it. Honestly, that was the only thing in California that made him feel alive. It became clear that no matter what, Jeremy wasn’t going to find his passion while in California. So, at the age of twenty-one, Jeremy moved back to New York.
Once in New York, Jeremy decided that there had to be a reason why he was feeling so empty. So, he decided to go to psychiatrist to see if there was anything that the psychiatrist could do to make him feel better. After about ten sessions, Jeremy was diagnosed with depression, and was given medication to try and help balance out his disorder. This meant that Jeremy supposedly had to stop going out to bars because his medication couldn’t be mixed with alcohol. This didn’t stop him, however; Jeremy kept going out, drinking and hooking up with anyone that wanted him. This proved to be really bad for Jeremy, as one night, not long after his twenty-second birthday that Jeremy ended up having a horrible reaction with his medication and the alcohol. He ended up having to be rushed to the hospital in order to be saved.
After spending about a week in the hospital trying to save his liver, Jeremy realized that he really needed to get his life together. He decided to start taking his medication more regularly, stop drinking, and try to find his passion again. Going through some of the same things that he was going through in California, Jeremy still couldn’t find anything that he wanted to do that wasn’t involved with theatre in some way. Eventually, he realized that no matter what, Jeremy only had one passion, and that was theatre. Not wanting to go back on stage right away, Jeremy decided to start by playing the piano at auditions and doing dance workshops.
There’s where he met his (now ex-) girlfriend, Olivia. Olivia was working as the assistant choreographer for a show that Jeremy was working as the accompanist. During breaks, Jeremy came up to Olivia, asking if he could see the rest of the routine because he wanted to teach it during his next masterclass. The two of them immediately hit it off. It was the first time that Jeremy even thought about settling down with someone. The two of them ended up moving in together and living together for a year and a half. During that time, Olivia pushed Jeremy to go back to acting, saying that he was doing the world a disservice by not being up on stage where he belonged. Eventually Jeremy decided that Olivia was probably right and started to audition for shows again. At 25, Jeremy ended up getting the role of St. Jimmy in American Idiot. About two months into his run, he came home from a show to find Olivia in bed with another man. Feeling devastated, Jeremy moved out the next day. About a week after the break-up Jeremy stopped taking his medication and started drinking again, just wanting to fill the void and hopefully make him feel better.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW? FLASHING LIGHTS, LIGHTS
Jeremy has always been the type of person to just really go casual for all of his looks. Jeans, t-shirts, and his signature leather jacket is all that Jeremy needs. Currently, his hair is in a short faux-hawk for his role of St. Jimmy, but when he’s not in a show he keeps his natural curls and his hair short. He has three tattoos: One on the back of his right shoulder that is a gold star broken in half that says 'Stay Gold’. One is on the inside of his left wrist that’s a quarter with the words 'Don’t let my sorry make evil of me’ around the quarter. The last one is on the top of his right foot in the shape of a microphone that says 'Test one two three.’

WILDER FABRAY ➝ FOURTH SIBLING
AS YOU RECALL, YOU KNOW I LOVE TO SHOW OFF
◈ FULL NAME: Wilder Ryker Fabray. ◈ GENDER: Male. ◈ PRONOUNS: He/Him. ◈ AGE: 22. (January 23rd). ◈ BIRTH ORDER: Fourth. Adopted. ◈ HOMETOWN: Camden, Maine. ◈ CURRENT LOCATION: Los Angeles, California. ◈ JOB ROLE: Lead Singer of the band Wild Ones. ◈ SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Pansexual. ◈ ROMANTIC ORIENTATION: Panromantic. ◈ FACECLAIM: Ross Lynch.
BUT YOU NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD TAKE IT THIS FAR
TW: Drugs; TW:Abuse; TW: Homophobia
Life was rough for Wilder Fabray, born to druggie parents who didn’t want him, but they didn’t put him up for adoption at first. He lived with his biological parents until the age of six, being neglected and abused, shoved in closets when his parents wanted to get high. It wasn’t until his father “accidentally” broke Wilder’s arm that he got taken away from them and put into the foster system. That was how he ended up in the care of the Fabrays, they were just another foster family that he was placed with, until it was decided that Wilder was going to be adopted. Russel wanted a son, and with his blonde hair and hazel eyes, Wilder was a perfect fit for the Fabray family.
For the first year or so of Wilder being with the Fabrays, he was extremely shy, afraid of messing up and it being decided that he wasn’t wanted anymore. After it became apparent to the small boy that thta wasn’t going to happen, he began to open up a little more and became an energetic, hyperactive child. He willingly did all the things that Russel wanted him to do, letting his adoptive father sign him up for football, baseball, and basketball. Wilder tried extremely hard to be the perfect on, and for the most part, he succeeded. When it came time to decide what he wanted to do after he graduated high school, Wilder wanted to take a year and find himself, to try his luck at making it in the music business whereas Russel wanted Wilder to immediately go to college and work at a practical job, namely a lawyer or a doctor. Wilder managed to convince Russel to give him just one year, and if he failed, he would go to school and become a lawyer.
Music was always an interest of Wilder’s. He taught himself how to play the guitar, piano, and the drums, so he was ecstatic that Russel actually agreed to let him try his hand in the business. After graduating high school, Wilder and a group of his friends, who he had formed a band with, moved to LA and started trying to get a record deal. When the year was almost up, with less than a month left actually, Wild Ones managed to get a record deal, and they immediately started getting their music out in the world more. They rose to popularity fairly quickly after that, touring as an opening act while recording their debut album, which went platinum within six months. They just got done with their world tour and are currently working on their second album.
WHAT DO YOU KNOW? FLASHING LIGHTS, LIGHTS
Wilder has short, shaggy blond hair that he likes to leave unstyled. He loves wearing jeans and graphic tees, only getting super fancy if he has to.

AESTHETIC ➝
