@mordrcke, out in the dark.
          This was not his idea. Not even for a second would he dare let anyone think that, anxious and uneasy, as he followed a boy he currently fancied through the darkened street in the general direction of a freak show. He was an artist, a sensitive soul, he sought out only the beautiful and in the ugly, he tried to find beauty. What point in that was there, however, when men created entire establishment based around the concept of ugliness? Gaping and grazing on the human soul that dared venture inside...
          “Come, Basil, don’t stay behind!” A part of it may have been the boy’s vanity. Young boys were always that way. Eagerly soaking up the view of the horrid only so that their own beauty shines the brighter in its presence. Vicious creatures they were, but they knew well to know they were beautiful. He held his sketchbook firmly under his arm, that was the excuse the boy brought him over under -- “Basil, you will be simply drawn to draw some of those poor creatures! Their faces, wait, you’ll see!” -- though as they ventured closer, he found that he was losing his interest in that more and more, if he ever had it in the first place.
        Dreadful places were they, ones like this one, indeed.

Oberst Redl (1985) dir. István Szabó is a movie loosely inspired by John Osborne’s play A Patriot For Me that was at its time subject to the censorship of Lord Chamberlain’s Office for its “sexually transgressive” handling of its plot that revolves around Alfred Redl, a gay officer of the Austro-Hungarian army whose betrayal is sometimes considered one of the reasons for the Great War. Colonel Redl is portrayed by Klaus Maria Brandauer.

@magnvs caught an artist’s eye.
           Hallward was just making rounds that evening. Unwilling so much to speak, reluctant to even feel terribly real. He had been drinking, too, though merely enough to make the evening more bearable. A little lightheaded was he already when he saw a face that would catch his attention, causing him to frown ever so slightly as he waited for the people to clear out just so that perhaps they could come face to face.
      “Excuse my intruding, sir, but -- do we know each other? I feel like I have seen you before.”

Pan doesn’t need to sleep much these days, but he enjoys lying in bed and savouring those moments between wakeness and sleep. He lays on his side, watching Basil fondly, and traces the man’s cheek with a finger, feeling the soft skin under his. His eyes are soft, tender, and he leaned forward to press a tender little kiss to Basil’s forehead to see those eyes flutter with the coming morning. The first Basil sees that morning will be Pan’s smile. “Good morning, my dear.”
A tender touch brought him awake, though if it had not been for it, the warmth of the gaze on him would have done the job quite as well, only a few moments later. He stirred to the kiss, to the finger that traced his cheek, smiling ever so slightly before he opened his eyes at all. And then he did and his eyes overflowed with confused warmth as they did every morning, upon realisation that he had not been alone after all.
“Good morning...” A hand traced down Pan’s side just to see if he was real. Just to remind himself, and just to pull a little closer towards the warmth. “Good morning.” Cunning with the sentiment of a lucky man, he leaned in for a brief kiss, just one more way of making sure Pan really was there.
