I used to walk in the theater when we were doing In the Heights, knowing that one of my responsibilities was to look out for my little brother. aaron burr (honourary founding father) lost his umbrella three times and when he referred to it he wrote shit like “my umbrella hung heavy at my heart” and “you know my umbrella is on a voyage”

hamilton had a book where he wrote down complaints about everyone and he had pages of whenever tom would drop macaroni on the floor and not pick it up and he said that tj had a ‘macaroni problem’ so congress banned food on the senate floor

john adams was thick and it was legally confirmed when someone said so and was subsequently tried for libel under the alien and sedition acts and the court was like “man cant be libel if its true”

once jefferson was gifted a 1,000 pound wheel of cheese that was made with milk from non-federalist cows and the dude didnt even like cheese

jefferson once smuggled expensive italian rice into america by shoving it into his pockets

when aaron burr was 17 someone came up to him congratulating him on his marriage, which confused him bc he wasn’t married, and like this rumour gained a lot of traction and so everyone was convinced he was married and he kept denying it and it got to the point where someone tried to duel him bc they thought the lady needed defending from a husband who would so insult her by denying her existence

jefferson owned a goat who killed a man

in 1824 lafayette gave john quincy adams an alligator to keep as a pet in the white house

washington liked to pretend his knife and forks were drumsticks and play music on tables

aaron burr once ate ice cream too fast and was convinced he was dying for almost an hour when in fact he was only suffering from brain freeze

burr spent $67 on a coconut

we all know the time that adams sent his diary to congress on accident and they read it out loud and laughed at him but did we ALSO know that he once trashed john dickinson in a letter to a friend and then the british intercepted it and then published it and everyone laughed at him
