Hi, I’m Fleur and this is my project “Back to the future”. I’m a third year architecture student at the TU Delft and currently doing the minor “Spaces of Display”. On this Tumblr page you can follow my process and my design choices.

I mostly looked for a connection between Aerospace and Architecture, while keeping the human experience in mind. By making an exhibition that goes from one era to another I created an interesting but also an educational way of telling the story of Aviation.

My design “Back to the future” can by found in the tinker table at the university library. Its purpose there is to give a small preview of our bigger exhibition at the faculty of Aerospace called “Visions of space” where my design can also be found along with the models I made for the final presentation of Q2!

In this presentation I talked about my design and where it all started. Why I chose to create a timeline with different eras and how I sorted all the artificats in the basement. After this I talked about the use of different materials, the importance of re-using the existing display boxes and how that impacted my design. Lastly I talked about the use of light and the use of the information boards.
