Ok, some post Eurovision thoughts!

Winner Austria was one of my favorites so I'm very happy they won! JJ is an amazing singer and the performance was stunning. Even though I'm not fully invested in the staging - it's not bad and it works. The Robbed Ones As always, there are songs that just won't go over very well in Eurovison, despite being really good. For me, this year it's Australia's Milkshake Man, Red Sebastian from Belgium, Katarsis from Lithuania and Erika from Finland - they all deserved a much better placement than what they got - in my opinion. But I'm happy for Eurovision to show me that these amazing artists exists! Jury It's kind of wild that we've gone from "abolish the juries" to "thank god for the juries" - and it's all because of Israel. I still stand by my statement that juries should leave or be toned down in Eurovision. Israel Of course we need to talk about them. Are they buying votes? I honestly think yes. Last year, Israel got second in the televotes, but if we look at Spotify and Youtube total plays, and also Eurovision's own top 20 the months after the competition, that number just doesn't make sense - Israel's song wasn't played much at all despite getting such high points from the public. It's hard to say what % of the public actually liked/voted the song or not - even though the outcry for its hatred is there. This year, the got the first in televotes - it'll be interesting to see total streams and youtube views to see if that correlates, because the public opinion about Israel definitely doesn't. Of course this also shouldn't be taken as 100% accurate because not everyone that votes in the contests keep listening to the songs online.

It just interesting that it only seems to reflect on Israel, but I haven't analyzed the other countries as much. Should Israel be removed from the contest? Yes, I think so. I also think Ukraine should be removed. Any country that, for whatever reason, cannot host the contest in their country - shouldn't be allowed to compete. Any country that has an ongoing conflict shouldn't be allowed to compete.

It'll be really interesting to see these coming Eurovisions with Israel getting more and more close to winning.

It feels like it's tense every year with Israel but EBU still lets them take part. Boycotts happening, probably not enough - but also, should we leave and boycott and just leave the people having no problem with Israel running Eurovision? Part of me is really curious to see what would happen if Israel won and the contest would be held there - certaintly wouldn't feel safe.
