This is a part two of the cerberus boyfriends story I wrote four years ago, if you can believe it! As with that one, I’m adding a note here to say there is no incest in this. They’re all separate entities who share a lower body, and are all separately in a relationship with the reader.

“Rhett?”

The enormous, white werewolf looked up at you from the floor of your living room where he was lying on his back, paws tipped over, decadently half-asleep in a shaft of afternoon sunlight. Arranged around him lay Peach, Princess, and Hovis, adding to the idyllic peace of the room.

“Mmm?” he hummed. When you bit your lip and felt a frisson of anxiety pass through you at the thought of actually asking the question you’d been wanting to voice for a while, he rolled over, pushed himself upright, and padded up to you.

The massive alpha werewolf leapt up silently onto the couch beside you and nuzzled your neck.

“What is it?” he asked. “You smell worried.”

With a laugh, you shook your head, reaching up to pet his fluffy head. “It’s nothing. I mean, it’s nothing to be worried about. I just… I just wanted to ask if…”

Now or never.

“If maybe you and the dogs would like to move in with me. Full time.” When he didn’t say anything immediately, you added in a slightly adrenaline-fuelled, garbled rush, “I know the deal with your landlady is kind of sketchy, and the dogs seem happy here, plus I’ve got a guest room if Charlie wants to come and visit…”

Rhett dipped his head and nuzzled his white cheek against yours, ears pulled back in an expression that broadcast his unease.

“You don’t have to say anything now,” you said, starting to regret opening your mouth at all.

“Wait,” he finally ground out. “Please…”

“Ok… I’m sorry.” Sometimes it was easy to forget how far he’d come in the time that you’d been dating him — and since you’d discovered you were his mate — and to forget how he still found it hard to process and express his emotions, especially if they were good ones.

“You… You mean it?” he asked after a long minute had stretched between you. He looked up at you then, his beautiful golden eyes gleaming, and his scarred face looking softer than you’d ever seen it.

You reached for his big, paw-like hands and squeezed his fingers. He seemed too stunned to respond, and his hands stayed slack. “Of course I mean it, Rhett,” you said gently. “I think it would be a good change, but it’s up to you.”

It took him a few days to accept, but by the end of the month, he had moved in officially, and a new phase of your life together began, though it was a while before you made any more suggestions that might overwhelm him. Moving in with his mate had apparently been very significant.

“Rhett?”

In human form, sitting at the breakfast table across from you one weekend, and with a cinnamon bun halfway to his mouth, Rhett paused comically. He raised an eyebrow at you. “I know that voice,” he chuckled. “What do you have in mind now?”
