FLORA / monthly newsletter.
Welcome to the new monthly newsletter covering everything that's happening in and around FLORA, a label showcasing the sounds and visions of the Fraser Valley, in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. To subscribe to the newsletter, and have it arrive in your inbox, sign up over here.
Here's what's happening in our world these days:
Spring Patterns 1 (FL-05)

Last week we announced our first cassette release: a collection of loops created by Jamison Isaak, called Spring Patterns 1 (it's available to preorder here). The tape is comprised of 45 minutes of blissful guitar loops, somewhat akin to some of the early Geotic releases, or the work of Japanese artist Ex Confusion. Whatever your reference point is, we're so thrilled to be able to deliver this transcendent collection of music to you as a tape. If you don't have a tape player, don't worry, we'll be releasing the digital version on July 13. In the meantime, head over to Jamison's YT channel to check out some previews, paired with some beautiful slow motion, flora shots.
Teen Daze Reissues

We're now three deep into our Teen Daze reissue series, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the way these records are looking and sounding. Four More Years and Beach Dreams, two albums that were originally released in 2010, are now shipping, and it's still pretty wild to see them on wax. A Silent Planet, the latest in our series, is just finishing up at the pressing plant, and should be shipping sometime next month. Head over to the Teen Daze Bandcamp page to get your hands on one of these records.
EP1 & EP2

Jamison Isaak's first two EPs (and first two releases under his own name) are both available to stream or download via your preferred platform. These releases see him leaning into the quieter, more reflective sounds heard on Themes For A New Earth, his last release as Teen Daze. You can read about some of the music that inspired these two releases over at Consequence of Sound , who interviewed Jamison for their Origins series. You can also check out Us, a single from EP2, over on a couple of our favourite playlists: Spotify's Fresh Finds: Cyclone (which collects new ambient & experimental music) and Ghostly's At Rest (Ghostly of course being a huge inspiration to us).
Friends & Family

We wanted to make sure we shouted out our friends at Stadiums & Shrines, and Cascine, on the release of Dreams, a compilation LP featuring some of the most exciting and interesting artists making music right now (plus our own Teen Daze). You can stream the compilation, but we'd really recommend trying to get your hands on one of the LPs (it's truly a piece of art). We can't say enough good things about everyone involved in this project.
Recommended Listening

Jon Hopkins' new record, Singularity, only seems to get better with every new listen.
Kamasi Washington has a new LP that just came out on Friday, which has been sounding incredible on first couple of listens. We're still not overTruth from Harmony of Difference.
The new SOPHIE LP is like nothing we've ever heard before; an incredibly progressive statement from an artist already known for her inventive sounds.
Come To Canada You Will Like It, the amazingly titled new LP from Project Pablo, is perfect for all your summer lounging needs.
Finally, if you haven't spent any time with Hiroshi Yoshimura's deep discography of beautiful ambient music, we'd recommend some time spent with Wet Land.
See you next month!
