That was one thing that Florence loved about the academy. Tennis wasn't an obscure sport by any mean and most people had probably seen some part of a match, whether on TV or watching people on courts while passing by, but so many people had little to no idea how it all worked besides the "racket hits ball" part. Hence why she liked seeing people of all knowledge and practice levels. "Keep your feet moving," Flo said with a nod. "I saw you play and you're not doing too bad but you're too stationary at moments. I get it, lack of practice but if you can focus on your footwork, it'll help you get some more shots." @adrianavazquezhatcher

Rian didn't know the first thing about playing tennis. In fact, she barely knew the rules, despite the fact she'd been watching her friends play constantly throughout the years. She'd come out today in thoughts of watching her friends play a friendly match but when one of them got injured, Rian had stepped in despite the fact she didn't know what she was doing. She took a step to the side, grabbing her water bottle and allowing herself to take a long sip, wiping at her brow as she heard the other speak to her. "Not to often if you couldn't tell by the way I play this game." she laughed, shaking her head, taking another sip of her water. "I come out on occasion to watch my friends play, and today I got roped into actually playing. Still trying to figure that out and the game isn't even over yet." @florencelattimore

Tennis had been Florence's whole life for so long that she could not imagine a life without it in it. Apart from health related days off, if she could fit at least a few minutes, she would. Which is why, now that she was retired, she was spending so much time at the academy. After all, she did enjoy going against different people and it was the perfect place.
"You should," she replied. She would always advise for more tennis, always. "Why wouldn't I?" @tylerxday

Tyler did like being active and he did play some sports but tennis was not one of them. He did know the basics as his parents liked to play but that was about it. He used to play when he was young with his family but that ended once he got older and started to do more things on his own.
But he was one that did enjoy watching a good game, why he was here today to watch and see what was going on. To see who was playing and how good they all were. But hearing what she said he laughed. "Oh no, I don't play not really " he smirked. "I mean I can hit it back and forth a couple times but I am not one you want to play a game with. " he chuckled. @florencelattimore

Where: Florence's home.
The early morning sun bathed Florence’s private tennis court in a soft, golden light. The air was crisp, and the faint smell of salt from the nearby ocean lingered, creating a perfect setting for a game. Florence adjusted her visor, looking across the net at her father.
She tightened her grip on the racket. A squint reminded her of the familiar twinge in her eye. The partial loss of vision still frustrated her, but she had learned to adapt, to adjust her stance and angles to compensate. She would never be as good as she used to be, but she was always up for a game, especially against her dad.
"I hope you’ve been practicing, because I’m not going to go easy on you."

Florence was on her way to her sister's house. She always liked that bike ride, from her house to there, so she hadn't been in a hurry. She wasn't going to be late, god no, but she took her time. She'd done a small detour to grab some food, just as she said she would. Well, actually, she said she might cook but clearly that didn't happen.
She stopped in front of the house and set her bike against the wall. She rang and waited to hear steps inside to lift up the bag of food up to her chest, a big smile on her face.
"Hello you!"

Open starter (cap 0/3)
The sun was setting over Kismet Harbor, casting a warm glow over one of the tennis courts of the Academy that Florence opened for public use, as long as one signed up. Today, she'd decide to join the few people that signed up. She stood by the edge, watching the last match of the day wrap up. She adjusted her grip on her racket, dreaming of a shower.
Florence turned slightly, nodding in acknowledgment as someone stepped next to her. "Nice evening, isn't it?" she said, her tone casual. "Do you play often?" she asked, a hint of curiosity in her voice.

“And if you’ve tried to do something good a thousand times, and you’ve failed a thousand times and the people around you are miserable, and you’re at the end of your rope, and you’re losing faith in yourself, you know what we want you to do? Keep trying, keep trying, keep trying.”

BIOGRAPHY
Born on May 5th, 1986 in the coastal town of Kismet Harbor, Florence Sienna Lattimore is the fourth sibling in the family and second child of Rachel Lattimore-Miller. Florence’s childhood was marked by a strong sense of community and moral values. Her father's emphasis on kindness, integrity, and resilience shaped Florence into the person she would become. The loss of her mother when she was just eight years old profoundly impacted her but brought the family even closer together. From a young age, Florence showed a natural athleticism and a competitive spirit, which she channelled quite quickly into tennis, with her father and siblings as first coaches and opponents.
Her passion for tennis really took off when she was just turning nine and she practised any chance she got on the local tennis courts. With determination and talent, by the age of twelve, she was competing in and winning regional tournaments. Her exceptional performance on the junior tennis circuit caught the attention of national coaches, and thanks to her dedication and hard work, and she’ll tell you her family’s support, she transitioned smoothly into the professional tennis world as soon as she could.
Rather fast, she made a name for herself in the world of tennis. What cemented this was a first Grand Slam win at the age of 19 as she became one of the top-ranked tennis players globally. Her peak moment came in 2012 when she clinched the gold medal in singles at the London Olympics in the U.S Olympic Team, solidifying her legacy.
Inspired by her upbringing in Kismet Harbor, Florence also made herself known as an environmental activist and launched a sustainable brand focused on eco-friendly sportswear and equipment. Florence also embraced opportunities in the modelling world, using her platform to advocate for body positivity and environmental responsibility.
In 2015, at a charity event, Florence met the person she would end up marrying a few months after getting her second gold medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016. As they decided to have a child, they moved back to Kismet Harbor. Florence got pregnant and in 2017, Lily Lattimore-Sorley was born.
After all her achievements, Florence decided to give back to the sport by creating the Lattimore Tennis Academy in Kismet Harbor. Welcoming aspiring tennis players from diverse backgrounds, its goal is to provide top-tier training and mentorship. When she wasn’t away on competitions, Florence mentored some of the students herself.
A few of years later, tragedy struck during a high-stakes match that would forever change Florence’s life. Florence took a severe fall that resulted in a traumatic brain injury and partial loss of vision in one eye. The injury was not only physically debilitating but also emotionally crushing, as it abruptly ended her professional tennis career. Extensive rehabilitation followed, and while Florence worked tirelessly to recover, the impaired vision made it impossible for her to compete at the highest levels of the sport she loved so deeply.
Refusing to let the injury define her, she recovered thanks to the support of those around her and decided to fully commit to the other ventures of her life. She became a full-time coach at the academy and was able to give more time to her brand and to her activism as well. Life’s unexpected turns truly lead to new beginnings.
