I was playing around with some concepts for The King in Yellow today, and god as much as I love the wide shoulders and the antlers, something about teeth for a face was really doing it for me. My earliest theory for the King when I started listening was that it would turn out that he was also blind, and taking Arthur's eyes was his first experience physically seeing the world around him. Obviously it didn't go that route, but the aesthetic of it still stuck with me.
