Budget budget budget

Lemme talk to ya.

We are approaching another group of gatherings, specifically Bella Bash in a couple months. I know some of y’all are coming! Yay! I also know there are people who are not able to go because of various reasons including but not limited to… money.

Tickle gatherings are super fun! They are a chance to meet new friends, hang out with old ones, and make wonderful memories. Yes a chance for tickling too but I try to not focus on that. Thats just me though. Anyway!

They are also… expensive. Thats just the reality. We’ve got:

Price for travel

Price for a hotel

Price for the gathering (all gatherings will have a gathering fee which varies)

Money to have on the side for activities and food for your entire time there (gas, food, entertainment).

It’s a vacation! While being at your vacation destination is wonderful the amount of time and money that goes into it is a lot.

Lemme let you in on a secret. For me. I go to 2 gatherings a year now. Pretty strictly. One of them because it’s so close to me I don’t have to worry about hotel and travel fees. Another because one of my best friends is there and wild horses couldn’t hold me back. But! The first year I went to… 4 gatherings? One of which I had to take a plane to? Me afterwards:

Between finances and work blackout dates… I have comfortably arrived at 2 gatherings a year. Some people only do 1! And not even annually!

I say this in an attempt to normalize this. Because (especially but not only) if you are new you might see people going to… 3… 4… 5 gatherings regularly? And this is not against them either! Good for you! Get that vacay!

A couple things to consider though: you don’t know their whole story and what they have done to have these opportunities/why they are afforded to them. Or why they may be seeking them out so much.

The big thing though is to not measure yourself against them.

You can’t afford to go to gatherings right now? Valid. Working on saving up but it’ll be a while? Valid. Not comfortable with travel? Valid. Don’t like staying at hotels? Valid. Don’t like crowds? Still working on being comfortable with kink? All valid.

Do what you can, when you can, and give yourself grace. You’re doing great.
