Social media as a whole has changed the way we operate in the world. From personal relationships, jobs, mental health, physical health, etc, it has changed the way we view and navigate through the world, and its only getting more extreme. To say it does not affect you would be a lie, whether we like it or not it affects all of our daily lives and it is becoming harder and harder to escape it. Some people will go through a social media detoxing phase and some does not find that it affects them in a negative way, which is amazing. If we use social media in a positive way then we can associate it with being positive but if we use it with negative behaviors then we start to feel that it is not healthy for use therefore we need a break. It's all depending on how you decide to use it.
