Locationships by up and comer YBN Cordae is a grand example of the potential that he has to offer the future music industry. Arriving on the scene in 2018 with his fellow YBN crew members, YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay; Cordae has made it clear from the very start that he is cut from an entirely different texture with his vocabulary, substance and flow. Last year he came out with “Kung Fu” a bodacious brag song with Cordae flexing his creative muscles ; and “Old N****s”, his response to J. Cole’s “1985″, which attacked all new wave rappers and stressed their plague on the current rap game. You can not go too far into his latest track without being transported into a vision of synths and distorted baselines, that gives the track an otherworldly feel to it, complimented by just how effortlessly his voice floats over the S1 production, Cordae properly manifest a surreal environment away from every day society. This is Cordae’s song for the ladies, which is around due time, seeing how as his popularity is rising and his previous singles were mainly targeted toward the male appeal. He successfully provokes imagery lost in todays way of living, for example; in the beginning of the first parts of the song he tells a woman to “put yo number on this paper cause, I would love to take you up, on a lovely date...”. Stop and think about that for a moment. When is the last time you wrote your number down, physically wrote it out and gave it to someone else rather than just type it into there phone? To me writing down a phone number shows that maybe it could be more than just a hooking up opportunity, it’s an invitation to something more personal; that other person is trying to connect with you past the social norms that we’re accustomed to and I can appreciate that. Or it may just be a call back to the late 80′s to mid 90′s era where that was the only way you could actually get someone’s number, by actually having it be written down. Either way it works for the aesthetic of the sound, because even the chorus itself has a similar sound to early 2000′s R&B with the layering of Cordae’s bars and an airy female vocal at the end of each line emphasizing the connection between the two. As the song progresses, Cordae begins to go down the list of women that he has secured over the years and their most prominent features such as a con artist from Nigeria and a bad yet bouji woman with country grammar reigning from Atlanta. He has reminiscing approach which allows for his cool and carefree tone to not come off as arrogant but rather complacent; self-satisfied, because in each scenario they both knew what they were getting into and in the end whether it was a happy or unwarranted farewell, no one appears to be at a loss. Just young people enjoying their youth. I really enjoyed this song and I recommend you do the same if you have not done so already. True, he does talk about all the sex that he has with these women but at least for once it wasn't with the listener’s girlfriend (Really sit back and think about how often one of your favorite artist said they were having relations with specifically, your significant other.), so I can appreciate that. Well this has been my first official review! I’m actually really proud of myself for taking this first step and I would like to thank all of you for taking a moment and hearing out my thoughts. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day and I will be back tomorrow for another post. Stay Blessed.

Welcome
I’m trying my hand at yet another attempt to do something creative with my life LMBO! I’ve went from writing music, to writing scripts, to writing books all just to be stopped dead in my tracks. I’ve even considered trying to make a YouTube channel (which I still might explore) but for the time being I thought I would try my luck with this avenue. You all can just call me Blessed, not to elevate ego, but because I truly feel blessed each and every day that I am able to wake up and continue down this journey called life. I have strong Christian ties (something that I am sure will be even more evident the further I release content) and I love my Lord. I am dedicating this blog solely to music reviews of all kinds. I have always had a passion for music and I felt as though it was the one thing in my life that never left me through the years. As the popularity of music is skyrocketing, allowing more and more individuals to create and release their own sound, it’s only fair that we try and give each one of them a fair listen. They made the music because they had something to say, and I’m all about hearing them out. So what to expect from me? My insights on underground rap, my feelings on the lovey-dovey pop songs, my adrenaline from hard rock. I plan on exploring as many lanes as I can to make sure everyone gets a fair review. If there’s ever any time you have a song that you’re interested in and you would like for me to hear, by all means feel free to send me a link and I will gladly play it and possibly review it. Starting out I will probably focus heavily on pop and rap since those are the niches that I am most comfortable with, but as I find more music that you all might be interested in, I will gladly express my opinions! Alright, talk to you all soon and have a blessed day!
