He might be physically limited, but Alex’s mental awareness was at its peak with all that was going on. He knew he’d been on meds the last few weeks and he may not be as sharp as he could be if he was off them, but the situation made it feel as if a rush of adrenaline had coursed through his veins. His suspicions continued to rise. Not only was the electricity off, but comms were down. This wasn’t good.
“Well, we’re not gonna do any good sitting here,” Alex said, grunting as he put his weight on his crutches and stood up. “We either gotta find Merlin, which I think is impossible in this state, or find out for ourselves what’s going on.” He glanced at Cleo. “You don’t happen to have a gun on you, do you?”

Alex was relieved when he heard Cleo’s voice in the dark. It took them a while to find each other in the dark, but a few moments of hobbling and Galahad made his way to Iseult.
“Well, I’m not just gonna lie there in the dark,” Alex said. “I wanna know what’s going on.”
He looked around but realized how stupid that was. He could barely see a few feet in front of him. “Is it like this all around HQ?” he asked, fearing what the answer was.

Alex nodded and gave Cleo a smile.
“Looking forward to tomorrow,” he quipped. “Better make sure you bring some good wine.”
He gave her a playful wink before nodding and saying, “See ya, Iseult.”

Alex let out a heavy sigh as he sat there. He hated feeling useless and helpless. Damn these crutches, he thought. No matter how strong the storm may be, Alex knew that unless it was one hell of a storm, it couldn’t have cut off the electricity from HQ indefinitely. And right now, minutes have passed that the HQ has gone dark.
“We could,” Alex responded to her suggestion. “I’m sure they can handle themselves, but it’s a good idea.” He shrugged. “Well, here’s to hoping we don’t need to fight.” Alex can’t brush the feeling that they might though.

Anwen fussed him him, with pillows and an ottoman for his leg. Finally, when she felt calm enough she nodded, sitting on the edge of a chair near him. “I can’t get any cell bars or internet. The storm outside is…. getting worse I think.”
She sighed a little, pouting. “Is there something we can do? Perhaps we should go gather up the recruits. So we can keep track of them. Get some candle and wait it out.” Anwen gave him a little smile, motherly. “I don’t know if you’re in any shape to be running around fighting.”

Alex was relieved when he heard someone’s voice. Seeing only their silhouette for a few moments, the lighter she carried made him recognize it was Anwen as he hobbled closer to her.
“Well, I’m not gonna just lay there in the dark,” he replied. “Like this?” he repeated, frowning. “You mean it’s not just here?” Just what Alex had feared. He had hoped it was only the infirmary experiencing the power outage.
Alex let Anwen assist him and he gave a grunt as he sat down. The cast on his leg required him to make a little effort. “You’re the first one I’ve met since this happened,” he said. “Something’s off,” Alex remarked, looking around in the dark. “Something’s definitely not right.”
Trouble//f2f//Alex&?
Anwen had been just about to go back to the tailor shop, she’s lucky she hadn’t been in the train car when it happened. She was using a lighter to see and was wishing she actually smoked at this moment. Though she was use to dark and she adjusted quickly.
“Alex?” She asked, meeting the man in the middle of the hallway. “What are you doing out of bed?” was her first reply followed by, “Oh God, is it like this in Medical too?”
Putting the flame away she helped Alex into the nearest room and sat him down. “I can’t….” she shook a little, “I can’t find anyone. I don’t know what’s going on.”

I’’ll live, Rowena. I appreciate your concern. Truly.
Well...
I hate to hog it all. Now, truthfully, are your injuries so dire we’ll have to bring in more recruits soon, or will you live to see another day?

“Yeah, that’s what I want,” Alex said. “To be on more drugs. No thanks.”
“Hey, you and me scratching isn’t such a bad picture,” Alex teased. “You can scratch me and I can scratch you.” He stayed silent for a while before saying, “Okay, that sounded wrong,” and burst out laughing.

Trouble//f2f//Alex&?
Alex was reading his book by his lonesome on his bed in the infirmary. Things have gotten much better for him in the past few days. The pain started to subside. He was able to sit up on his own. His ribs feel like they’ve recovered for the most part but he still had to take it easy. The sling around his arms was gone. And his cast was getting removed in a few days. He was grateful. He couldn’t bear just lying down here doing nothing.
And then it happened. Alex’s quiet time of reading was interrupted by a power outage that sent the room into darkness. He reached for his cellphone at the bedside table and illuminated his surroundings with the phone’s light. He couldn’t press the intercomm button because, obviously, that wouldn’t work. He sighed. Couldn’t this have happened when he was out of the infirmary?
After a few minutes of sitting in darkness, Alex realized that something was wrong. Why didn’t the generators start? Sure, he knew there was a huge storm outside, but he knew it wasn’t enough to cripple the electricity indefinitely.
Something was definitely wrong.
Alex swung his legs out of the bed and reached for the crutches that were given to him a few days ago. Using his phone to light the way, he hobbled out of the infirmary.
“Hello?” he called. “Anyone?”

Well, it seems like you’re having fun anyway, Madoc.
Well...
Well, it does sound like more fun when you put it that way, doesn’t it?

Describe one of your closest friends, and explain why that person is such a close friend.
Well... There’s Cleo. I don’t really know how she got to be my closest friend. I know that sounds bad, but... Honestly, I don’t know. It sort of just... happened.

Okay, so let me get this straight: now we’re playing hide and seek?
Well...
Are you now? I suppose I could always just track you down wherever you are, see for myself if you insist on being so coy about it. If you’re on the bad end of ‘banged up,’ then it won’t be too hard to catch you, but if you’re not, then I’ll know.

“Tomorrow sounds perfect,” Alex said with a smile which turned into a wince as pain once again took over his body.
“Well, you can get it again you know,” Alex said with a teasing tone of expectancy. “I can just imagine you walking around scratching yourself all over.” He laughed to himself. “It would make my day. Might be the thing that gets me out of here.”

I think you should keep guessing. I’m having quite a bit of fun.
Well...
Good, glad we’ve cleared that up. Well, were you shot? Do you have a knife sticking out of your side? Or shall I keep guessing?

“How ‘bout both?” Alex replied to her question. “I could use a bit of both.”
Alex shrugged. “You don’t know what could happen. The tech could blow up in your face or something. Or you may have the cold or chickenpox and you’ll be here in no time.” He closed his eyes and humorously imagined the scenario. “Cleo, Iseult herself, rendered helpless because of the flu. That would be astounding.”

“Since Kenna is gone, I’m team Ella, totally, she’s a decent girl, terrible at shooting and a little too nice but still, good choice.”
Well I’m glad you’ve taken a liking to my recruit, doctor.
Well...
