hey all
As some of you may have noticed, I’ve been away for a really long time.
Like, a REALLY long time.
As such, I’m assuming most of you have lost muse for our threads, and I need to drop some if I’m to remain active-ish without feeling overwhelmed.
The people I will definitely continue with are makeitrainmoreno and nadiapetrovaxx. That said, I haven’t removed everything else from my thread tracker yet. If you would like to continue our thread/s, like this and I’ll see if I still have enough muse for it.
I am not currently open to plotting new threads with old or new partners.

Katherine rolled her eyes, not dignifying his words with a response. It was his own foolish attack on her territory that had landed him and, now, his daughter into this situation. As was not atypical of her, she held no sympathy for him
Katherine waited, watching Rebekah with curiosity.                    The woman had yet to give any particular indications                    of fear, or even hesitation. Surely she must regret                    her decision, at least a little, when faced with this                    dank little cell? Hm... She and her father must care                    for each other deeply. Idiots.
“Sorry, did you expect something nicer?” she asked, voice clearly sarcastic and apathetic. “Yes. Now get in.”
Tumblr media
Rebekah watched as the guards converged upon her father. For a moment she thought, judging by the way his jaw locked and his eyes flared, that he was going to  make what would certainly be a most foolish attempt to  resist them, but even Mikael was not that stupid. He  allowed himself to be removed, but not without fixing Katherine with a glare that was positively dripping with venom——–if looks could kill. “You won’t get away with this,” he spat.                 Rebekah, who had remained silent throughout Mikael’s                 extraction, refused to look at her father as he passed,                 flanked by Katherine’s henchmen. She could feel his eyes on                 her face. “Rebekah,” his voice was softer now, almost pleading.                 “Rebekah, please.” She didn’t reply, but stared resolutely at the                 opposite wall until he was gone. She waited a few moments,                 which she used to regain her shaky composure, before turning to                 Katherine. “You want me in there, I assume?” She gestured to the                 cell her father had just vacated.

Katherine giggled, trying not to fall over as she was nudged. Instead, she put her arms around Nadia.

” I love you too. “

In a fluttered moment, she gave Katherine’s shoulder a mild nudge.

Katherine could understand the sentiment, she supposed. She still found it odd when the home was shared with family members, though. Well, she could see Elijah as being respectful enough to knock. Not so much the other. Then again, needless to say, her opinion of Klaus was pretty low.
“Any idea when he’ll be back?” she questioned. taking a seat       on Rebekah’s bed. Her habit of making herself at home in       other people’s houses was one that had a tendency to irritate,       but she couldn’t really be bothered to care. That said, considering       Klaus lived here, if Elijah was going to be a while she might       just leave till he got back.
Tumblr media
“You assumed wrong. Why should I be confined to clothing   in my own home? I’ll have you know that my brothers do   have the decency to knock, most of the time.”
Rebekah went on her normal routine, brushing her blonde locks in front       of the vanity mirror. Although unfazed by Katherine’s presence, she kept      an eye on the woman’s reflection. She had been stabbed in the back by      a doppelganger before, and she trusted this one even less than Elena.      “If you’ve come to see Elijah then you’re out of luck. He left to attend to       some business a few hours ago.”

Now wouldn’t that be something. Katherine refrains from making the sarcastic remark that instead of coffee, they should have a tea party, but it certainly crosses her mind. No point in stirring up further tension. Were she not trying to get something, it would be another matter... but were that the case, she wouldn’t be bothering to talk to her anyway.
“Well, I can’t exactly say I’d be surprised,” she retorts, returning Bonnie’s earlier roll of her eyes. “Look, all I want is a locator spell. I’m pretty sure there aren’t too many things more harmless than that, yeah?” After a pause, she adds, “And no, I’m not trying to find some weapon of mass destruction or something. It’s a person.” She hopes it will be clear enough that this means it doesn’t involve Bonnie or her friends. It wasn’t exactly hard to find people in Mystic Falls.
Tumblr media
Bonnie could only roll her eyes in response. The likelihood of Katherine Pierce coming to see her for nothing more than a friendly chit chat was about as likely as her being struck by lightning. Crossing her arms, she gives her a look that communicates she remains unconvinced by the doppelganger. “You’re gonna have to do a little better than that. We both know you’re not here to talk over coffee and pastries.”
And there it was; the REAL reason that Katherine had approached her. Bonnie was rather unsurprised to learn that another vicious vampire needed yet another favor from her. “And what if I told you that I didn’t believe you?” She questions, suspicion and distrust of her words evident in her features. “You’re not exactly known for your honesty, Katherine. These little favors always result in someone getting hurt and you’re never really gone from our lives for good.”

Katherine saved Rebekah’s number, then sent her a text. It was pretty straightforward: “-Katherine”; there was hardly reason to spend time writing something when they were sitting right across from each other. “Alright, I texted you so you’ll have mine too.”
Tumblr media
Rebekah let out what she hoped was a somewhat discreet sigh of relief and grinned, although she attempted to suppress it. Clearing her throat, she attempted to arrange her features into a more composed expression. “Fantastic,” she said before reeling off her phone number.

“Wouldn’t be me if I didn’t try,” Katherine said, trying to ignore the way her mouth had suddenly gone a bit dry. She hoped to stall Rebekah a bit to give herself an opportunity to escape, but the fact of the matter was that she had no hope of doing anything at this point. Even if she tried attacking her, Rebekah’s instincts would catch her in a moment’s notice. Fuck.
Tumblr media
Rebekah laughed. Was Katherine really so foolish as to think that she would not have anticipated her bid for freedom? Rebekah bolted after her, reaching the exit just a split-second before Katherine did. “You’re awfully predictable, Katherine.”

Katherine watched Nadia get out the pizza, practically drooling. The fact that it was only one piece did catch her attention, but it was true that her stomach was, of course, rather small now. Still, would one piece really be enough? And she knew asking for more would spark another disagreement about how she ought to be eating gross cat food instead of delicious human food. Ugh.
When she noticed Nadia cutting up the slice of pizza, she made a face. “ Why are you doing that? I won’t be able to taste it properly! ” Though, admittedly, she probably did have to take into consideration the tiny size of her mouth.
Tumblr media
Although she was a little annoyed, she hopped down from Nadia’s shoulder onto the table. She also wasn’t really into having to shove her face into food to eat it, which of course inevitably meant getting some on her whiskers. It was actually an incredibly uncomfortable feeling, and it meant having to lick her paw and clean it, which she still found gross.
She endeavored a nugatory shrug of sorts, somehow rendering the matter as something too banal to ruminate over. What she honestly carped over was the human acuity that tarried despite having corporeally morphed into a cat. Katherine still pined for any average person’s appetence—pizza, particularly. Had Nadia herself not known that a surfeit of it denoted a consequent indigestion of sorts, the furball would have been found writhing on the floor for the past days. This was especially not laudable for Katherine who took the form of a kitten.
Sensing the other’s fervid readiness, Nadia felt that Katherine would be in for an anticipated disenchantment. She deftly yanked a small knife to sunder one slice from the other, then took one out to be placed on the plate. Pizza box closed. Back in the refrigerator. By now, the other might have already inveighed against this—well, whether or not Katherine griped about it, Nadia was still found incising the pizza into even smaller pieces. It was after having returned the knife from where it formerly was that she ambled to the table and sat, sliding the plate on the surface.
                              “ I DID say pizza bites, didn’t I? “
Tumblr media
Nadia pointed out, a minute smirk of triumph and amusement written on her features.

Seriously? Katherine was quite certain that this would be the one and only time a prisoner would have to be forced to leave. And here he had wished so dearly for his freedom a few hours ago...
She debated whether to accept the request and have him removed.                  If he truly wanted to stay, would it not be looking a gift horse in the                  mouth to make him leave? Then again, Rebekah lost her power as                  a bargaining chip over him if he were also here. Better to get him out                  of the way here so he could look at beginning some of the changes                  she had discussed wishing for.
“Fine.” She looked to the guards. “Bring him out. He can go home now.” One came forward, but she nodded to the second to go as well. Mikael seemed to her more a physical threat than his daughter, and despite being protected, it wasn’t as though Katherine was actually unable to defend herself.
Tumblr media
Mikael was staring at his daughter as though he had never  seen her before. Rebekah avoided his gaze, for she knew that the moment she did, he would launch into a long and angry tirade in an attempt to either dissuade her in her decision  to give up her freedom for his, or yet admonish her for being so foolish. You silly girl, he would say. You idiotic child.               Arms folded, Rebekah stared resolutely at the floor, waiting               for her father to leave his imprisonment, so that she could               take his place. But, like his daughter, Mikael was stubborn.               He didn’t move a muscle. Rebekah gave a sigh of exasperation.               She should have known that he would not accept such a trade.               Not without force. She glanced at Katherine, who was in               possession of enough manpower to forcibly remove her father               from the premises, she was sure.  “Can’t you—-” she gestured towards the guards,  “—-can’t they do something?”

When Katherine noticed Nadia’s tears, her heart ached. She knew neither of them wanted to get emotional in front of Bonnie. It was a little frustrating, however, for Nadia to treat the matter that way when she herself had already ended up putting herself out there. She fought the frustration back, despite having had her pride thrown down for her sake. But she was here to try to get her message across to her, and that was what was most important. …That was before Nadia spoke. It was worse that a slap to the face.
She really wasn’t sure what she had expected. It wasn’t like they had really had time to become close, or like she had ever really acted like a mother to her. What little she did, trying to protect her from the inevitable loss, was simply interpreted as the abandonment she claimed it to be, she was sure. Even so, she bit her lip, somehow crushed at the rejection. It was rare for her to tell someone she loved them and mean it with all her heart, and she sure as hell hadn’t been eager to open up to Bonnie. In fact, this whole thing had just been one long, frustrating conversation, in which Nadia refused to listen to a word she said. She had gone out of her way, persuaded Bonnie to give them this one last chance to talk and say goodbye properly, and Nadia was entirely resistant every step of the way.
It was infuriating. If she were alive and a similar situation had occurred, she would certainly have said something to the effect of, Fine, be that way, and stormed out. But this could be the last chance she would ever have to speak to her daughter, and she refused to let her temper get the best of her and allow it to end like this. Even if Nadia seemed to refuse to let her actually say anything, effectively, by refusing to even consider it… Persevering even when your child was being difficult was what a mother was supposed to do, wasn’t it?
Still, she found herself holding back tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. Yes, despite all Nadia had done for her, she couldn’t help but to take the lack of I love you too – it wouldn’t have even had to be in English! – as a rejection. A statement that Nadia did not, in fact, love her. It wasn’t like she could blame her for that. But it hurt like hell coming from the person she had least expected it from.
“Right,” she said, as a way to fill the silence as she stood, walking a bit away and sitting on the table so that her back was to both of them. Before Bonnie had a chance to, just in case she would have, she added, “Don’t repeat that.” She was sure the former witch’s eyes had followed her, but she refused to acknowledge it. At the moment, her focus was really just on keeping her emotions in check. The urge to cry had passed, and the temptation to say something hurtful right back was probably much stronger than it should have been. In the end, she really didn’t have the right to call herself her mother, did she?
“What do you want me to do, Nadia?” she asked, unable to help the impatient bite of an undertone. “Do you think I can change it? Do you think I wouldn’t if I could?! –Bonnie, don’t repeat that. Hang on.” That was, perhaps, the one and only good thing about requiring a mediator. When she started to say too much, at least it wouldn’t be relayed to Nadia.
Tumblr media
Katherine took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm her frustration. “What do you want me to do, Nadia?” she asked again, because that was something she actually wanted the answer to. “I can’t change what happened. All I wanted was… I thought, hey, maybe I could get…” One last decent conversation with my daughter. She was dipping into sarcasm, but quickly pulled herself back out. “I just wanted to try to say an actual goodbye. To give you closure, and…” Tell you that I’m always here. Tell you that I love you. Both were accurate, but had already been rejected. She couldn’t bring herself to risk being pushed away once more. What she had said struck her as useless. But, getting the feeling she wouldn’t be able to come up with anything much better, she said to Bonnie, “…Okay. You can tell her that.”
Bonnie was cautious not to let the frustration in Katherine’s tone seep into her own. Instead, she remained neutral. Whether Katherine wanted to sound frustrated or not, she didn’t think that was really what should be conveyed in this situation. “She wants to know what you want her to do. She said she just wanted to say an actual goodbye, and to try to give you closure.”
Which she had already said, and which had also been rebuffed. God, she was frustrated with her daughter right now. Didn’t Nadia realize that this literally could be the last chance they would ever get to talk?! And yet, instead of actual having a conversation, all she was doing was rejecting every word that was spoken.
Bonnie’s words were hollow, with nary an emotion to relay the mandated intent behind the imparted thread of apologies. Revelatory upheavals dawned on the other’s tanned features and the brunette reflexively replicated the facial intricacy with a graze of her own chagrin. The very presence of the Bennett was quite of a nettlesome hurdle, yet this witch wasn’t to be inculpated for her entailed involvement in this forlorn plight—for the debacle of her rendition of Katherine’s sentiments; Bonnie, at all, wasn’t supposedly due to be an unwilling witness to the tragic convolution between her and Katherine. No one deserved to see this. No one—…
Nadia would have almost inconvenienced Bonnie with a strangled demand to put an end to the apologies—as each uttered word had only hacked away to an incomprehensible void—but she did… and said nothing. Because the brunette realized she had long since deemed herself a vagrant for pining after utterances that’d never cascade from her mother’s lips in a brisk deluge. Instead of the oppressive distress that weighed as a haunted shadow for a week, Nadia found herself basking at the apologies. Not once in a blasted eternity did Katherine taunt her pride to its knees to apologize to her own daughter. Not while she was living.
Nadia’s gaze was cast to the sleek surface of the table, the reflection of her ostensibly equable features bearing false summations of her inward turmoil. What a delight it was to be a vampire. Sentiments in an all-out brawl until any sliver of putative sanity left became nonexistent. The puerile appeal of flicking her humanity switch to the dimmer extremity started to be a succulent suggestion. But—if there was simply anything the brunette was concocted of—it was her obdurate strain, a kind of evocative stubbornness reminiscent of her mother’s. Both of them could realize an eternity with a fight-or-flight tactic, but they could neither flee nor barricade themselves from the assaults of their humanity.
The brunette had ever-so-slightly lifted her gaze from the vacant solace of the table, Bonnie’s crisp mediation tearing her reveries asunder—and, perhaps feasibly—curtailed Katherine’s unremitting apologies. Even the air hung impotent as Nadia partook in her impulsive displeasure incited by the witch’s next words. Tell her what she was feeling? What? Had her mother forgotten what it was like to confront emotions as a vampire?—had her memory of said impediment dilapidated even on the Other Side? No vampire could afford to be dreadfully meticulous in that regard. Nadia couldn’t simply pinpoint what she was feeling. And to say she was ‘mad and sad’ would be quite skin-deep.
                                                                           “ Her loss. “
Cold and biting, lithe digits leisurely curled around the mug and leveled the rim to her lips. There was an element of surprise at the lingering warmth—apparently still idling into fresh wisps as if it the tea had been brewed just now. The piquancy was unpredictable. In unfurling drifts and traces, she could discern the bitter aftertaste. And from there, she could recall that fateful afternoon when they first conversed as mother and daughter. Nadia could almost taste the grit of her dubious jaw when Katherine disclosed that for even once in her protracted lifetime—she searched for her too. –I searched for every village, every cottage, but I couldn’t find you. There was a sharp clink when she set the mug down.
Although Bonnie simply spoke once more, Nadia abruptly stilled. She could feel it. I don’t know what that means. The statement alone seemed to augur a compromising turn—one that was certain to rupture her walls in an irrevocable disintegration. The brunette recognized Bonnie’s tangible incertitude; if anything, Katherine must have attempted to speak in Bulgarian. And Nadia was approximately in her heels to speed for the door and be liberated from all this torment. But she was still here, awaiting for Katherine to wreck her and decrypt her entirety in front of Bonnie. Nadia’s thoughts—words—even her emotions were put to a callous hush. She didn’t dare brace herself. She never did.
Now it was there. One she had dreaded yet anticipated. Although ineptly articulated, the words rung like no other.
Obicham te.
                                                                     Obicham te.
Obicham te—mi Nadya.
Lips slowly parted as panic convulsed her insides. And she tautened her muscles to smother her limbs from yielding to the floor. Her mouth was ajar in profound bewilderment and wonder and anxiety and grief and she steadied her petrified gaze on the table before her—once-guarded features now a troubled mess.
She watched as her eyes pooled. But the tears just couldn’t give in. And—somehow, possibly through her vampiric senses—she could hear something else. When she acknowledged it, she hadn’t known such a thing even existed—but she could tell it was the sound of her falling apart.

“Is knocking no longer a thing that people do?”
Rebekah huffed in annoyance and retreated back to her vanity.         She didn’t bother to cover herself up, content to do her makeup         in nothing but a diamond necklace. This was her room after all,         clothing optional.
Tumblr media
“I would have assumed you would lock the door if you’re walking around naked. Or are you telling me you’re used to all your oh-so-polite relatives knocking before they barge in?”
Although it had briefly caught her by surprise, Katherine           showed little further reaction to Rebekah’s nakedness.           It wasn’t like she had never seen a naked woman before...           and she certainly wasn’t going to complain.
