Lawful good: cannot go wrong with sagerecluse. It rolls off the tongue, perfectly represents the ship

Chaotic good: breaking the rules for aesthetic purposes, i like you

Neutral good: reclusesage is still okay but. Why would you twist it. Why would you change the position. Its just awkward now.

Lawful neutral: too many s's. But.... You're technically right, i guess

Chaotic neutral: again, you had a good thing going with sagerecluse. Now you're making it weird. Whats going on

Lawful evil: i genuinely saw some people call it that and i by no means am against it but also. Why. It sounds. It sounds so strange. Its like Recluse is a new magic system. Just. No.

Neutral evil: same thing, except you bastardized it more. Good job.

Chaotic evil: just. Why.

Sage is almost as insane as Shadow Milk, BUT that insanity doesn't manifest as him killing cookies or anything, he's just weirdly fucked up about the most specific things

He'd learn restoration magic just to gnaw at himself and then heal. And not even in a self-harm way. He thinks blueberry milk/yoghurt is a great flavor actually and he's super lucky to have a portable lunch

He'd stay awake for days on end, but not because he's punishing himself or is trying to find a way to get revenge on the Witches or anything. He's just REALLY invested in the effects lack of sleep has on cookies and he's pretty sure he just found a new spell to combat fatigue. He then gets so tired he forgets the spell completely and passes out somewhere in the corner of his room. Recluse has to drag him to bed and then scold him

I hc Sage as a complete and utter loser. Which is very funny because the mortal cookies think of him as this saintly god. He's not, but he's pretty good at pretending he is. Until there's a very hot blonde man in the neighborhood. Lord help him then

The way he speaks is very old-timey by cookies standards. It's not because he's so old, he's actually had plenty of time to acclimate to the changes in language. He just thinks speaking like that makes him sound REALLY cool. But then whenever he's speaking to Recluse - a cookie that shares his lexicon, he sometimes switches to the most bastardized versions of modern slang possible just to mess with him

Poor vision Pure Vanilla (TR) is so nice to write about because when Shadow Milk (or Sage) is hurt I get to make him kneel beside Smilk and use touch to gently check him for injuries and see if healing is necessary

In this case it's Sage, confused and flustered, sitting on the ground while Truthless, out of habit, holds up his hand and brushes his fingers on it. I've never even considered this one before but trying to write Truthless using as much of his other senses as possible, not relying on visual descriptions mostly just for fun from the new way of writing, it just came to me he would do that

sage discussion of the day: They are NOT the "good end" version of shadow milk!!!!!!!!

they're equal levels of misery, even!! their elegant and reliable persona is a facade!! they've most likely endured the pain of the "truth" themselves too, like recluse, but the difference between them is that they believe the harshness and disappointment is worth enlightenment! their morality is questionable at best!! they lead many to seek out the truth they know will cause them deep anguish because they value it so, and are even confused/upset at people believing otherwise!!!

it saddens me when it seems like people haven't read the diverged paths story because it's so wonderful and opens gates to so many different scenarios and possibilities with shami and puva's characters. to speak about sage or au recluse you must do your reading of the story 3 times and analyse it yourself
