One of my favourite things is how mysterious they keep Viktor at the start of Arcane to Jayce, we get the first scene in Jayce's apartment where he deliberately doesn't give his name, the court scene where there's a deliberate shadow drawn over him and finally the next scene in Jayce's apartment, where he talks him down from the ledge and says he believes in him and his research all before finally revealing his name.

The whole hilarity about this is the reason it's written this way is to have Viktor's identity be a big reveal to League players as him being the Machine Herald but without that in universe it comes across as a huge romantic trope to me for someone suddenly coming into your life, sweeping you off your feet before you've even been properly introduced (Jayce's "I don't even know your name" quote has such unintentional Cinderella nods to me)

I'm sorry I don't mean for this to sound rude or anything but most of you Jayvik fic authors are getting Viktor's nick names wrong. I can tell when you're not Slavic, every variation has a specific connotation, a mood with which you use it.

I was offered sex today by a 26 year old man. in exchange of that I was supposed to advertise some kind of bathroom cleaner on my tumblr. of course i declined because of my morals and strong will power. which is just as strong as ajox. the super strong bathroom cleaner. now avaliable scented with lemon or vanilla.

AHHH thank you + oh my god absolutely. i do not read many jayvik fics but the ones that i have read are phenomenal, there's a few that really stood out to me though for sure so i'll rec these :]

i've been trying to make you special by fouroddapples (E) - this is like. THE situationship jayvik fic for me. i absolutely love the unspoken push and pull of their relationship and it really makes your heart ache and i just love it. i love it

disjunction by nanashi07 (M) - this one was written pre-s2 and imo is just a beautiful tie up of machine herald viktor and arcane viktor to me, it takes place some time after the end of s1 in arcane. very good divorce era jayvik reconciliation and it's fun to watch everything unravel over time

mother tongue by nightlilly (T) - there is a huge chance you've read this but i have have have to mention it because it's just everything for me. it's so cute i was kicking my feet smiling the entire time. such a comfort read

grey dawn/red dusk by thetrickyowl (both E) - this is two fics in one and you Have To Read It. it is written so beautifully and there are going to be so many parts that just kick you in the gut and it's amazing. absolutely incredible. it goes over the

here at the end of all things by queercatfan (M) - THIS FUCKING FIC!!!!!!!!!!! oh my god. it is a devastating and heavy read but it is so so beautiful and raw and ugh. i went through all five stages of grief twice while reading it, it's written from au/mage viktor's perspective as he tries to fix the damage he did in his timeline and it just fucking HURTSSSS but it hurts so good. i've read it like three times now first because i am a glutton for punishment and second because it is so god damn well written and SUCH a good viktor dissection i can't stop thinking about it.

anyway i know for a fact i missed like a hundred but these are the ones i've been rotating in my head like a microwave on repeat for the last few weeks so that's all i've got for now. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING i love geeking out about my fav jayvik fics. there are sooo many talented authors here and i am constantly inspired by them
