Gender piracy

my icon is inspired by an idea i’ve seen lots of lil references to scattered about the internet. ‘gender pirate’ is a term that gets mentioned alongside genderqueer sometimes, with hints of a definition here and there. here’s my attempt at stringing it all together into a fuller definition!

if going ‘stealth’ is for ninjas, pirates are the exact opposite. they are a flavor of genderqueer which is about being aggressively, loudly, visibly queer. gender pirates take what they like from the existing ideas of gender around them and weave it into something flashy and dangerous. they try to disrupt the average person’s ideas of gender normalcy by appearing charming and menacing, multifaceted and single-minded. gender piracy is as much an action as it is a presentation as it is an identity. it is both hyper performative and incredibly authentic. these people are the the foppish highwaymen, the dapper gangsters, the daring corsairs. you don’t have to incorporate a nautical aesthetic to be a gender pirate, but it helps!

i consider myself a gender pirate because being visibly gender-nonconforming is very important to my sense of self. i don’t care about being read as a man or a woman, but i do care about people thinking i’m cis - the thought of that makes me really dysphoric!

and yes, i do relate heavily to the nautical aesthetic ;) but that part is not mandatory! the aesthetic associated with this label (if you want to associate any aesthetic with it at all!) is inspired by all kinds of swashbucklers.

A Proxy-Host acts similarly & fulfills many duties a typical host would despite not being a host, instead they are acting in place of the host for whatever reason. This is typically when a part fulfills host-like duties as consequence of fulfilling their true role.

This may present as (though is not limited to);

A caretaker acting in place of a little or otherwise vulnerable host

A more abled part acting in place of a less abled host (such as a part talking for a non-speaking host)

Camohoro: a flag for a gay* individual who presents themselves through street style adjacent fashion with camo and/or tactical gear/clothes/fashion, etc style and may or may not have a buzz cut.

Design/term: cameleon icon from flaticon. *Gay can mean any type of gay; mspec (mono), lesbians, gays, etc.

sooo, this is taken from a Finnish urban dictionary, (bear with us,) where it's slang for a (presumably lesbian) gay who has a buzz cut and wears camo. Take it with a grain of salt, I've never heard this being used irl and the entry for it was made in 2019, so it could not be actual slang but I don't care, a lot of us took that term and shredded it in so many ways that it's in absolute pieces lol.

I wanted to also note, that It does utilize the Finnish term for prostitute; horo (it's a vulgar way to refer to them.), one way to say whore in English. But the term is not supposed to be taken as nsft(-in-nature) as the term itself made originally, was not. :) anyone can use it btw, and you don't need to have buzz cuts for it, we don't lol.

Brokescriptian: a neogender* umbrella related to The Broken Script horror Minecraft mod, it's entities, and lore behind it.

it can be, but does not exclusively need to be also characterized by slowburn horror, paranoia & generally paranoia inducing events, sudden noises, jump scares, broken buildings and builds that appear out of nowhere, glitched popups windows, broken game windows, sudden crashes and bans, broken games, sudden events, jump scares and unknown and often faceless entities, uncanny effect, and an entity player you know nothing about. it's complex and fear instilling.
