one of the things i can't help but appreciate about dmeshi is that there are no postcanon established relationships for anyone except dia, who is a very minor character. you get a snapshot of the characters' future trajectory but even that i feel is pretty malleable because it's never more than like. 5 years in the future maybe. and i like that! obviously this is speaking with shipper/fanfic author brain but also "very tired of having the fate of every interesting female character be marriage and pregnancy with an irrelevant male character" brain
