Happy 20th Anniversary to one of the biggest inspirations of my life, it’s hard to imagine there was a me before you, Pokémon.

Though pikachu is in fact my favorite, he also represents the franchise as a whole here, so please imagine this with your own favorite pokemon, as you reminisce and celebrate today’s momentous occasion.

Whether that's the case or not doesn't change the fact the #shootback is a bad message to send. We don't want a war between LGBTQ and anti-gay rights. All this will do is feed the negitive veiw on the LQBTQ yes we need to defend our selfs but it shouldn't be a call to arms.

West Hollywood plastered with rainbow #ShootBack signs

Stickers and posters featuring a rainbow-colored version of the Gadsden flag and the hashtag #ShootBack were raising eyebrows in West Hollywood on Thursday morning in the wake of the massacre at a gay nightclub in Florida.

The posters featured a coiled, striking rattlesnake, similar to the yellow Gadsden flag that reads “Don’t Tread On Me” and often is used by the Tea Party movement. The West Hollywood signs were rainbow-colored, like the gay pride flag.

Capt. Holly Perez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department West Hollywood Station said she first noticed one of the rainbow #ShootBack signs Wednesday night as she was running along Santa Monica Boulevard. She was surprised, initially thinking it was just something leftover from Sunday’s L.A. Pride parade and “a fluke.”

But then she kept seeing them — in the public right of way and on private property — and alerted others in the sheriff’s department.

“I understand the sentiment behind them and First Amendment rights, but it’s a bad message,” Perez said. “I hope it’s just people venting that they could do this, and I’m hoping their calmness will take over. It’s our job to keep you safe.”

I wanted to share this story first and foremost because of the positive message I think it brings. You have a right to defend yourself and your life.

Notice, however, that Captain Holly Perez of the LA Sheriff’s Dept. doesn’t seem to think so – in fact she states “it’s our job to keep you safe.”

Our job, she says, as in the government. This is a subtle yet dangerous narrative bend which puts the burden and authority to defend your person and property on the police. The State has been executing and disenfranchising the LGBTQ community since its inception. It has never been their job to keep you safe, only oppressed.

If I get a peice of art done I may not link the artist (no offence I'm just forgetful, if you ask or remind me then 90% chance I will) but I'd leave the signature in place and I'd certainly do my best to remember the artist's name (I'm really bad at namea though please don't be offended of I forget) because anyone willing to do a peice of work for someone deserves respect and every artist deserves recognition.

Dear artists...

No, I’m not going to link back to your page. I edited out your ugly signature too. I paid for the art. It is mine.

Don’t worry, this does not mean I take credit for drawing it. When people ask if I drew it, I say “Nope.” When people ask who did, I say, “Sorry, I don’t remember.”

Just because I bought your art does not mean our profiles have to be linked forever. It’s the same if I buy an apple from the grocer. I don’t have to keep the sticker on it or tell people where it came from. I’m not a walking advertisement for your shop.

If you want credit so badly, then I should get a cut of your future profits for my part in the advertising.

I know I’m probably going to get the wrath of whiny, entitled artists for this, but I don’t care. I won’t be making a shrine around their art dedicated to them. I paid for a service, and now we should go our our separate ways!

Don't google trypophobia

If you see posts on your dash saying “don’t google trypophobia,” Trust them.

Trypophobia is the fear of irregular patterns of holes in things, like beehives and anthills and coral and sponges and the camp in “Holes.”

The thing is, when you google it? The images that pop up are mostly holes in the human body. They combine trypophobia with body horror and are honestly disturbing to look at. So if you don’t have/don’t know you have trypophobia, googling it may very well cause you to have it/learn that you have it. And if you have it but don’t know it, looking at those images WILL trigger you.

I had no clue that I had trypophobia before I googled it, but then I looked at some of those images and I am so fucking triggered right now, I’m shaking.

So, when you see a post (or 20) on your dash saying “don’t google trypophobia,” trust it, and don’t climb down that rabbit hole.

*shudders violently* time to update Tumblr savior.
