#to a slight extent yes this is true#but the bigger case isn't that they have no easy way to win#it's that even democrat leaders benefit from not winning#because the idea of a majority is sculpted and changed to fit the image of whoever is On Top#and many democrat leaders are currently On Top#and after a certain amount of acquired power their connections to the working class#begin to seem more and more expendable#and they begin to have more wiggle room#to not make that argument or to not speak up or to avoid making the wrong person mad#humans do not like loss and politicians often have the most to lose#the system is long and tedious and difficult to change 100% that's the nature of an institution#but real radical and fast change is possible#if only the people with the power to do it weren't so dead set on focusing on themselves#and if only we weren't so obsessed with the idea of change being made by one powerful individual#and perhaps if only radical acceptance weren't so terrifying and the idea of some idealistic utopian revolution so popular#radical change is possible but radical change requires community and acceptance and willingness to sacrifice social capital for your peers#and most democrats don't even come near those things because they are still politicians#hell most leftists don't because they still believe that the bad things are only bad when done by the wrong people#the problem isn't that the wrong people are in power and the right people would make good change#so much as the problem is our system rewards power and greatly deincentivizes not having it#and so many people want it to be their turns to be the righteous moral punisher#that they forget what the point of growth and change was in the first place#politics#long rant
