I have a confession...

This blog is a sideblog. My main blog has been shadowbanned for promoting fundraisers (shame on Tumblr, honestly), which has rendered this blog somewhat unusable as well. That being said, though, I haven't been participating in syscourse at the level I used to, and so the desire to run this blog has steadily dwindled down.

Now, I don't want freezingcoldsystemtakes to disappear. It's been called iconic, and people have named it as their favorite syscourse blog more than once. I can't take any of the credit for that- the jokes all come from you guys!! However, I can't give anyone the login to it because it's a sideblog. I also don't want there to be any sort of selection process for who takes it over- anyone with the wherewithal to queue 2-3 asks a day can run an askblog. So, what's going to happen?

My current queue only has 10 or so asks left in it. Once the queue is empty (set to 2 posts daily, so should be about 5 days from now), I'm going to change this blog's name to freezingcoldsystemtakes-archived and post the banner and pfp. Whoever claims the URL first can have the concept. You don't have to keep the banner and pfp, but they'll be there for free use! I would encourage you to keep the rules as they are, they've kept my askbox hate-free for the most part, but once I archive this blog, it's out of my hands.

If you have any posts you submitted that aren't posted once my queue is at 0, I would highly recommend sending them to whoever creates the new blog! I'm sure that out of nearly 400 of you who follow me, someone will be happy to take up the post.

I am very sorry that this came so suddenly- I'm dealing with a lot outside of tumblr and getting shadowbanned on my main pretty much killed my motivation to participate in syscourse at any level. I wish you all well!!

This sounds like it'll be funny, go for it! (Sorry for not replying directly, I wanted to have it more visible on my blog!)

Please don't submit asks with real blog names in them.

This is already a submission rule for the blog that was put in place because I had gotten two separate asks on different ocassions about users who were, for lack of a better descriptor, trending within syscourse as a drama topic. I have no interest in involving this blog with anything currently going on- this post is to reiterate that asks with real blog names in them will not be posted.

This blog is for jokes. This blog brings the syscourse community, regardless of individual opinion, together for a laugh. This blog is not here to engage in, enable, or condone bullying in any way. Because, let's be real- when you submit an ask with someone's name in it, the joke is at their expense. Maybe it's funny to you, and I'm not here to police that. Pause for a moment, though, and imagine if a satire blog that's well known within the comunity suddenly posted a joke where YOU are the punchline. That would probably sting a bit, regardless of how invovled you are in that community.

I know it can seem like an appealing way to blow off steam or get in some kind of "gotcha!," but they won't get posted and I wanted to discourage them from being submitted entirely. There's always a more constructive way to build the punchline for your joke. If there isn't, was it really funny to begin with?
