25 Albums of the Year 2016
The top 10 albums here all had incredible visuals to accompany their singles so I’ve linked the first 10 to my favourite videos.
Quite a varied year for my tastes:

Tove Lo - Lady Wood
Nick Cave - Skeleton Tree

MIA - AIM
Solange - A Seat At the Table
Mitski - Puberty 2
Santigold - 99 Cents
Emma Ruth Rundle - Marked for Death
Regina Spektor - Remember Us To Life
Honourable Mentions:
The honourable mentions are here because 2 of them were my most anticipated albums of the year (Tori Amos / Kate Bush) but I wanted to keep my main list to all new full length studio releases.
case/lang/viers only makes an honourable due to not having enough time with it yet but I’m liking what I hear so far.
case/lang/viers - case/lang/viers
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele (Remastered)
Kate Bush - Before The Dawn (Live)
LP - Death Valley (EP)

Top 15 Albums of the Year 2015
Each of my top 5 albums are vastly different in production and vocal stylings but all struck a chord with me emotionally and stuck with me since their release leading to many repeated listens. All of my top 5 had fantastic videos to go with at least one of the tracks, I’ve linked my favourites below. Check ‘em out!
Albums 6-10 were much harder to choose, sometimes these end up in my top 5 depending on my mood, but although they have some phenomenal tracks, they’re slightly less consistent than 1-5.
Albums 11-15 are all albums I’ve enjoyed immensely since their release but maybe with a less emotional connection (yes, I know...considering Sufjan’s is supposedly one of the most heartbreaking albums this year...) and fewer repeated listens.
Oh and no, Carly Rae Jepson does not make my list...Sorry!
1 - Joanna Newsom - Divers

Highlights: Sapokanikan, Divers, A Pin-Light Bent, Time, As A Symptom.

II 11 - Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell Highlights: Drawn To The Blood, Should’ve Known Better, No Shade in the Shadow of The Cross. 12 - Florence + the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Highlights: What Kind of Man, Long & Lost, Various Storms & Saints 13 - Vanbot - Perfect Storm Highlights: Watching You Sleep, Trooper, Shake 14 - Nadine Shah - Fast Food Highlights: Stealing Cars, Fool, Matador 15 - Ryan Adams - 1989 Highlights: All You Had To Do Was Stay, Out of the Woods, Blank Space

Haven't had enough time with this album yet to decide where it should be in the ranking. Seriously beautiful voice though.
