Ada Cackle in the Early Days of being Headmistress

Ada loves to be outside, finds she needs to feel the grass beneath her bare feet to ground herself when everything is too much. She’ll pick ingredients for potions, or simply for baking, before reading at the base of her favourite oak tree with the sunshine warming her toes. When she eventually feels like she can breath again, when the power of nature floods through her and makes her feel strong once more, she heads back inside to finish her work before curling up with a good book. Of course Pendell is right there with her, nuzzled up against her side.

I’m a scientist and caught some colleagues using AI to draw medical illustrations. I suggested using real artists. Their argument was that ‘artists need to up their standards to meet AI.’

Up their standards? To meet what? Anatomically incorrect hearts???!

They also suggested they should get a ‘proper job’.

Shame that people in STEM undervalue arts so much. I’d argue an artist contributes far more to society than someone researching a random protein for the hell of it.

Remember not to push past your body and minds limits too often. Yes, sometimes it can be necessary or even done for fun, but you deserve to prioritize your long term health and wellbeing. Sleep when you are tired, eat when you are hungry, say no when you are uncomfortable, be kind to your current and future self.
