Amazon is following in Friendize.Me footsteps in social recommendations technology

Yesterday I was looking for something on the Amazon website and guess what I found. It looks like Amazon is trying technology similar to what Friendize.Me has -even the label is exactly the same: "Ask a Friend". Look at the picture below: Amazon on the left, Friendize.Me's at one of our customer's site on the right.

Amazon seems to be testing the solution for now, and it doesn't appear for every customer and not for every product. But concept (while current implementation is quite limited and not really social comparing to Friendize.Me features) seems to be the same - ask your friend for advice while shopping online. We were quite happy to see it - if the leader of e-commerce is moving in this direction, that's a great validation for us.
