Also Palia: All the characters have depression. Everyone has some sort of deeply sad backstory that makes you lament the fact that you can’t hug them. There’s an underground market and a cartel and The Order. There used to be a massive human society but there was an apocalypse and they’re all dead. Ruins and memorials and graves jut out of the ground like splinters in the land’s skin. You and the other players are all the humans that’s left, and you all have amnesia and don’t know what happened to your own people either. Everywhere you go, relics and harrowing letters from the dead are scattered around. There’s just so much grief. There was something, someone here. This was important. They’re all gone, now.
