Dysphoria (2025)

This is a repaint of an illustration I first posted right here on this account over a decade ago when I first transitioned. I did this for TDOV this year as a sort of 'then vs now' for myself more than anything. A lot has changed in a decade. I've changed.

A decade ago visibility felt like liberation, but today it feels like a target. A decade ago politicians made a lot of promises to us, and today they can't run away from us fast enough. A decade ago I was crashing out in a dysphoria spiral. Today, in spite of everything, I'm at peace with myself.

It's Pride Month in the States and the Trans community is going through it. Between the Skrmetti decision and the threat of HR1 stripping care from Trans people of ALL ages on Medicaid and ACA plans, Trans people need support more than ever.

So I'm making this illustration available as a print in my shop and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Point of Pride, an organization dedicated to providing financial aid for transition care. I'll post receipts of funds donated at the end of the month.

I'm aiming to raise at least $2000, as that's the amount needed to cover 12 months of telehealth services, prescription medications, lab work, and more for at least one trans person in need of HRT.

Transition care really IS life saving, it saved MY life. I wouldn't have lived to make any of the art that people have told me they love so much. My whole portfolio, all my work over the years, none of it would exist. If my art has ever meant anything to you, please, help.

adriana smith who was forcibly kept on life support after being brain dead to incubate her fetus due to anti abortion laws in georgia, usa will be taken off life support this week. she had an emergency c-section today and the child was born prematurely and is in the nicu. her family is raising funds for hospital bills (that the state didn't even pay for despite forcing this "treatment" btw!) and for the new baby. donate if you can. As we read the news about the Freedom Flotilla, it is important to remember that Israel's blockade on people and goods' movement in and out of Gaza did not start on Oct 2023.

Israel completely prohibits the exit and entry into Gaza by sea and air, and also heavily restricts Palestinians' movement in and out of Gaza through the 3 crossings available since the year 2007. Israel not only restricts the flow of food and other goods, but also limits people's freedom of movement, isolating Gaza from the rest of Palestine and the whole world. The 'Madleen' is but one of several Gaza-bound ships intercepted by Israel since 2007.

Ibrahim (@aburakhiaibrahim) has just received a rare chance to leave this 'open-air prison': his sister Samah, who is in Canada, has applied for family reunification which has been approved! However, with all the restrictions, making the crossing is not easy and it also costs A LOT. Ibrahim and his family are hungry, but they cannot miss this chance to evacuate to safety!

Unfortunately, Ibrahim's situation in Gaza is only getting worse. He was searching for his belongings in the rubble of his home when he came into contact with the toxic substances the missiles contained. These toxic substances has left Ibrahim's hands inflamed and swollen. As if suffering from starvation and frequent massacres isn't enough!

Please support Ibrahim and his family! They cannot do this on their own, please share their fundraiser and donate if you are able to! The survival of 28 people depends on you!

Rebuilding What Was Erased – A Message from Abedmajed in Gaza

My name is Abedmajed, and I live in Gaza with what remains of my once large and loving family.

In a single missile strike, we lost over 25 members of our family. They were not just names. They were mothers, daughters, sons, grandparents — people we shared meals with, laughed with, and built dreams with.

The missile hit our family home — the heart of everything we knew.

Among those killed were: 🕊️ My mother 🕊️ My sister 🕊️ My older brother His wife and their three daughters 🕊️ My uncle, his wife, and all their sons and grandchildren

We were left with nothing but rubble and grief. Yet somehow, my brother and I survived. And now, we carry the responsibility of rebuilding what was taken — not just for ourselves, but for our father, our surviving siblings, and the memory of those we lost.

💔 Why We’re Fundraising

This campaign is not just about survival. It’s about rebuilding a future — A family home, a shared life, a place where our father can rest safely, Where the next generation of our family can grow up knowing peace instead of trauma.

Due to the collapse of Gaza’s financial system, all donations are processed through my brother, who has a U.S. registered Stripe account. Funds are securely transferred to Gaza and distributed in cash here on the ground. We are transparent and ready to provide proof of every step.
