[ Hello! I still have quite a bit to do on this blog before I officially open Ava for interactions, but I wanted to say a few words, link to a few pages that I have completed, and mention the one thing I know of currently that absolutely will need to be recoded.

My name is Hansel, I use she/her & he/him pronouns. I used to do the Justified recaps and episode previews/teasers before the new episodes would air for SpoilerTV under the professional name/pseudonym of Robin Smyth and Justified has been one of my favourite shows since 2011 when I first watched the season one DVD (and then the season two DVD when it came out a few weeks later at the start of 2012.) Some of you may recognize me or be familiar with me from justifiedresource, though I think most of the people here currently know me from rping in one way or another. (I’ve also written an academic paper over Boyd for a collection of essays over Justified that may eventually be published by a university in Tennessee.)

This blog is a sideblog to turnonthe8-track/hedwigplots so I cannot send asks directly, but if you see one of those blogs following you (probably the latter), that’s me.

I wrote these a few months ago awhile I was moving into my current house with pen and paper and am transferring them over to a digital format very slowly. The majority of these pages will need to be either fleshed out, recoded, or reordered before actually starting here, but that will come in the coming weeks. (I also still need to make my own icons, but I can’t currently lay fingers on my copy of the DVDs :/)

For some reason, the italics I’ve put in on a couple of the pages are showing up as white text. On other pages, the italics are presenting in red. Highlighting on desktop resolves this issue and mobile should not have this problem at all.

Mountain Talk: things we say 'round here.

visitate = to visit with someone. “We’re going to Mama’s to visitate.”

kindly = kind of.  "She was kindly tall for a woman.“

airish = chilly and cool, as in weather. “You’ll need a jacket, it’s airish out.”

tote = to carry. “Help me tote this out to the car.”

kin = related to, from the same family. “Are you any kin to the Clarks?”

take a shine to = to be partial to something; to like something. “Billy seemed to take a shine to reading when he was little.“ 

right = very. "He was a right smart kid.”

ill = to be irritated or angry. “I was so ill at him that I couldn’t stand to look at him!”

sigoggling = leaning, crooked. “That barn is sigoggling.”

nigh = nearly. “We’ve lived here nigh on ten years.”

might could = a phrase that indicates an event that will happen if certain factors come into play. “We might could go down to the park if I get off work in time.” or “We might could fix the car tonight if the part comes in.”

poke = a paper sack. “You got a poke I can tote these peaches in?”

mind = to look out for. “Mind that last step, it’s uneven.” or “Can you mind the kids while I get a shower?”

pole cat = a skunk. “There’s a pole cat been scuttling around the house the past couple of nights.”

britches = pants. “Go put you on some britches.”

reench = to rinse out. “Here, reench this rag out in the sink.”

what = sometimes used in place of that. “You’re the one what lent me this book.”

a’ = a prefix added to verbs. “He was a'wanting to go to the movies tonight.”

t = added to the end of certain words; ie: twicet “I checked that list twicet!”

-er = often used in place of the “ow” at the end of words such as window or pillow; “Can someone close that winder? It’s kindly airish in here.”

-like = added to the end of words as a descriptor. “He was moving real quiet-like so as not to disturb the birds.”
