I downloaded Procreate so i can try doing some artwork away from my PC ^^ Most of my work so far has been practise getting used to the programme and the brushes and filters, but I wanted to try a bit of fanart along with all of that

I’m almost finished with Persona 5 Strikers, its been such a fun game. Sophia is still a stand out for me, I absolutely loved her, especially towards the finale

I finally went and set up my tablet for my new pc (id already predownloaded my usual art programme when i first got it, but this isnt about medibang), but along with that set up, i decided to test a new programme i saw cross my tumblr dash one day

This here was my test run with Krita ^^ a night forest setting

Things I like: so many brushes and textured brushes~ the gridant options are nice too for that background I managed to make

Things I’m iffy on: the basic brush is surprisingly fiddly, not helped by the fact that I do not understand at all how that altering curve works to strengthen it :/ trying to draw the tiny fairies in the tree leaves was actually really hard for sketching little balls and giving them stick limbs 

layers are fiddly as well but then ive gotten way too used to how medibang works (and i could use that excuse for a lot of things, ive used it for 2 years now)

I’d use this for backgrounds for now but i’d stick to medibang for now to do character stuff

I’m a sucker for VA references and shared roles, so I drew Chisato from Bandori as Blue Cat from Star Twinkle Precure cos they’re both voiced by the same VA (Sumire Uesaka).

It kind of looks like a movie poster, which is fitting since Chisato’s a movie star :D

Second time testing with traditional artwork, this time i wanted to try colouring as well

There was a lot of smudging as i was colouring over my initial sketch :’D consider that lesson learned. I covered the worst of the smudges with twitter emojis :p

Otherwise, i’m quite happy with this~

I wanted to draw something for her on the actual day, but I just didn’t :’’’D No real excuse, I just couldnt bring myself to pick up my tablet, plus I got distracted by many other things.

However tonight I decided to try some traditional practise, since recently I got some supplies (colouring and lining pens and a pad) from a craft shop. I decided to draw Ai and figured I’d make it a belated gift, cos I still wanted to do something for her and it still feels like I could maybe get away with calling it a birthday gift, even a few days later :’D
