It's funny how much of the "anti-intellectual" sentiment still expressed on tumblr is clearly a reaction to the "intellectual" aesthetics and presentation assumed by a group of annoying reactionaries from over a decade ago. Like the idea that people only question the veracity of Astrology because they hate women and queers makes sense if you think that anyone who brings up stuff like "statistics" and "evidence" is a gamergate redditor, but without that specific context it's a baffling thing to say. It's as though the fact that certain people once said "facts don't care about your feelings" to justify being stupid and bigoted has made some "progressives" conclude that only stupid bigots care about facts

Heya - I think you've mentioned you live in Wisconsin, so I'm guessing you've heard about the flooding in/around Milwaukee. I just saw a news story about a sanctuary for special needs cats that looks similar to yours (Doodle's Ranch and Sanctuary) that got hit extremely hard by the floods. They lost nearly everything, all their stored food and litter, along with two of their cats who were in the basement and couldn't make it out. Wanted to pass along to see if you would be willing to share their fundraiser links (though no hard feelings if not, I totally understand as I super rarely share fundraisers myself).
