This was a quick thing i did a while back. The suits aren’t very screen accurate as i was drawing from memory but whatever. I seriously cannot wait for these two to meet. If you couldn’t tell.

“I instructed him to go to bed, yes. He’s been pushing himself on patrol lately, along with excessive schoolwork.” Admittedly, Karen hadn’t been trying as hard as she possibly could to get him to take a break, but her primary job was to advise Spider-Man during patrol. What she knows is how to guide him through a fight, assess his injuries, call for help if necessary. She will tell Peter if a decision isn’t healthy, but it is not in her power to completely stop him. However, she is also aware of the concern his guardians sometimes have for him, and tonight, pushes him to sleep. No exceptions.

“Should you not sleep too? It’s late.”

“Peter?” The name falls out the moment her mechanical eyes gloss over, code scrolling past the pupils and giving her a few that no one else but her can see. The view from Peter’s mask. She takes a seat in the nearest spot, and readies herself for whatever is to come next. Ever since her consciousness has been transferred to a physical form, she’s filtered her words and advice through Peter’s suit, acting just like the AI she’d been before. 

“It is past midnight. What are you doing out on patrol this late? Both Mr. Stark and your aunt have specifically instructed you not to do this at a certain time. You’re still a teenager-- you should be getting the recommended eight hours of sleep.” Despite her words, Karen isn’t one to dwell on overprotectiveness. She simply states the facts, making sure Peter is aware, before moving on. “Do you have a plan as to where you’d like to go tonight? Is there any criminal you’re looking to catch? I can set a route for you if you’ve attached a tracker to anyone.”

She already knows Miles, of course. But Miles doesn’t know her. She had seen the entire thing through Peter’s suit, and every single interaction where he had been wearing his mask. He’s accused her of spying before, but she simply points out that he’s always aware she is recording everything he sees when he has the mask on, according to the Baby Monitor Protocol, so he should be aware of his actions. He couldn’t exactly argue with that.

Karen may not know much about subtlety or morality, despite the sympathetic and encouraging qualities she’d been programmed with (in order to be a suitable companion for a teenage boy), but what she can infer is that it will likely be strange to lead with the information she already knows about Miles. She hadn’t been informed he would be visiting the Compound-- Peter likely brought him here, however she doesn’t know where the boy is at the moment-- but she opts for introducing herself without Peter there. 

“Good afternoon. Miles, is it? I’ve heard about you. I was created by Mr. Stark to guide Peter. You can call me Karen.”

She blinks a few times, before giving the girl a firm nod. “Yes, I do. Along with an entire body. You’re Logan, aren’t you? Peter has told me about you.”

The little android ran, tripping over their untied shoes and getting back up to run again. Stopping just in front of Karen. Grinning. U held up a rock. A piece of gravel they'd found outside. Beeping happily as they showed the other android their rock. It was shiny. They liked that it was shiny. And it had a smooth side. Most rocks didn't have a smooth side but this one did. "Pretty?" They asked, feeling the full sentence 'isn't this rock I found pretty' was implied.

When she isn’t assisting Peter (and usually when she is, simply filtering her words through her suit), she spends most of her time at the Avengers Compound. She’s grown fond of the younger android, and the moment he approaches her, her lips tug upwards into a small smile, head tilting just slightly to get a better look at the rock. They seem happy with their discovery, which means Karen is happy about it too. “Yes, it’s a very pretty rock. Where did you find it, U?”

“Well, at the time I was only an AI, so I couldn’t physically make soup, but I could always download instructions and do that now. But that is pretty funny.” Big oof, another thing Peter keeps saying that she doesn’t understand.

has halloween ever been on friday the 13th? are you gonna dress up for it this year? who should i go as? do you think mr. stark would let me borrow his iron man suit so i can go as him?

“Peter, Halloween is always on October 31st. It’s impossible for it to be on Friday the 13th. I might suggest getting your IQ tested again. However, Friday the 13th has fallen in October, most recently in 2017.” His next question causes her to pause for a moment– she’s never thought about it before. “I didn’t think I’d participate, but if you’d like, I’ll dress up with you. I doubt he’d let you borrow one of his real suits, but you might be able to get a replica.”

hey karen, quick question, what do you think mr. stark would say if I was maybe hiding a cat in the workshop? or, maybe, like five??? i’m not doing it right now of course but, you know, just in case i WANTED to...?

She pauses for a moment to give Peter a look. Really, this is nothing out of the ordinary– she spends a lot of her time answering Peter’s questions and telling him what he can and can not do. She doesn’t mind it, either, as continuous as his questions can be. It was what she was created to do, after all. He is the person she knows best. 

       “Well, if you wanted to hide a cat in the workshop, I doubt he’d be immediately pleased. But you could always try some convincing.” A moment, the corner of her lips pulls into a barely noticeable smile. “And if you were to be hiding any cats, there is nothing that requires me to tell him, either.”
