Finished wbn book 1 and lemme tell ya, I LOVED IT. I could go on, but I think it's more important that I share my top crackships ive come up with:

Sworn x Eioghorain. They're in the same movie and both have a soft spot for suvi. Also, before the double nat1 scene, sworn gave me strong uncle vibes. Suvi's uncle x suvi's uncle. Do you see the vision?

Lemon Lady x the Great Bear. They're both caked up and cmon, you telling me he wouldn't hit that? She's the only one who can match his margaritaville energy. They're endgame.

Indri x Steel. Or Indri x Ame or Indri x Suvi. Im not picky. Indri deserves some toxic Yuri in her life. She's so Regina George coded she needs a woman to plot revenge against obsessively. How about Indri x Slate? They can bond over hating Suvi and wanting to kill Ame.

i finished watching the paradise of thorns like an hour ago and yet i still can't think about it without my brain blacking out. what the fuck. i understand why no one has written anything about it yet. i too, would not know where the fuck to begin. what the fuck. everything about this movie is so unexpected. it's like getting hit with a brick durian in the face every thirty minutes. and then the last fifteen minutes are just. durian to the face. durian to the face. giant durian to the face. what the fuck.

A context for this song. in thai wedding there is something calls พิธีรดน้ำสังข์ *water blessing ceremony, where the bride and groom's families and friends pours water blessed by monks from a shell on the couple hands.

so i understand why this line got translated to god but in thai it's sky/heaven. so anyways ya'll can put two and two together with this song's lyrics. it's both a joyful and a lonely song about queer love, cause the rain was the only wedding guest for the couple in this song.

anyways fuck you jeff satur i'll be suing you for emotional damage. this song and this movie are reminder that no matter how much thailand progress with queer rights there still will always be inherent sadness about being queer in this country.

I’ve seen a lot of posts about The Paradise Of Thorns but none of them told me that this movie is actually about how poverty and inequality forces differently oppressed people to fight each other to the death for scarce resources and any tiny shred of dignity. There are parts of this film that I don’t think quite worked but that overarching message is a banger.

Me at the beginning of TPoT: It's about poverty. It's about homophobia. It's about the lack of access to healthcare in rural communities. It's about disability and caregiver burnout. It's about what children owe their parents and what parents owe their children. It's about family and who counts as such in the eyes of society and the eyes of the law.
