A Bunch Of Sad, Insecure Dudes Attacked A Woman And Everyone Got What They Deserved
When Anita Sarkeesian announced plans to do a video series exploring the portrayal of women in video games, she became the victim of a massive online attack choreographed by members of the gaming community who cast her as the “villain” in their online “game” to ruin her life. It did not go well for them. But for Anita, things ended up going very well indeed.
You definitely want to watch the whole thing, but here are some highlights: at 1:00 she talks about why she loves video games, at 2:02 just try to imagine yourself in her shoes, at 3:45 she sticks the people attacking her under a microscope, and at 8:15 she doesn’t just win the game, she absolutely destroys it.

Post Stream Ineptitude
A fanfic about Dodger and Jesse.
I don't like apologizing for my work but I want to answer the possible question: This is weird/bad/clumsy. English isn't my first language and I don't have a beta reader. And i haven't written for quite some time. But I want to start again. Only way you improve, right? :)
This is meant as a first part of a longer story. Hope you like it a little bit.
Jesse caught a glimpse of himself in the reflection of his monitor when he sat down on his chair. His usually healthy colored face was pale and had dark circles around his eyes, one eyelid a little deeper than the other.
The reason for this zombie like appearance was the live stream he just came home from. About 25 hours of Final Fantasy VI... He loved that game but at this moment his only true love was his bed.
He rubbed his eyes and with a deep tired sigh he reached for his smart phone. His Twitter account was open since he just made some final tweets for his awesome fans before going to bed. But what he was really looking forward to was a tweet from Dodger.
During the stream some kind of running gag made its rounds which involved Dodger being murdered in favor of banging a goat or even TB.
This stupid game of Bang/Marry/Kill... It really should never leave the high school yard or on very rare occasions some frat parties.
What was he supposed to answer to all these questions? It's just easier to make an over the top joke about it than telling people you'd like to bang or marry someone you secretly like. It was just a silly situation he epically managed to maneuver himself into.
But at least it didn't seem as if there were any consequences beside of an assumable new top comment under every video he does in the next few weeks. He should have known; Dodger didn't get offended that easily. More likely she laughed the hardest about it. Jesse smiled a very slight and tired smile starring blankly at his phone screen. There were many reasons he liked her, this being one of them.
It didn't seem she would answer so he put his phone away and leaned back in his chair looking up at the ceiling. Why can't we live in a perfect universe where every feeling is mutual?
He started to drift away into dreams when suddenly his phone rang. A little confused where the sounds came from Jesse looked around, his mind slowly coming back to reality. He looked at the phone and saw that it was Dodger calling. Without hesitation or further thought he took it and answered.
“Brooke? Hey, what's up?”
“Hey Jesse! Did I wake you up?” she asked. Jesse's brain, still reluctant to work at proper speed, tried to catch up to the situation. It was unusual for her to call at this hour or to call at all actually. Most of the time she just writes him a message. Not that it bothered him.
Finally he said “No, no. I was just...” Well, he was sleeping but he didn't want to say that of course. “I was just doing stuff.” Good work, brain...
“I just wanted to say sorry 'cause I didn't come to hang out at the stream again. I had a bad day and was kinda busy.” Her voice was pretty calm and almost tentatively.
“No problem. Thanks for being there the first few hours.” Usually he wouldn't let her off the hook that easily but he was too tired and dumbfounded to mock her.
After a short pause Dodger said: “So... banging TB in favor of killing me, huh?” You could almost hear her grinning. She didn't seem to be too tired to mock him.
Jesse smiled, though more out of embarrassment than amusement. But being the actor he was, he knew how to cover up his feelings with silly jokes.
“Oh, so you want me to bang you?” Dodger giggled obviously uncomfortably and Jesse realized that this joke took it a bit too far. So in a half sincere half kidding voice, which really was as sincere as it gets for Jesse, he continued “I'm sorry. It's late and I'm tired. Besides, you have to give silly answers to those questions, right?”
“Yeah, right” Dodger said, now more comfortable.
Again, a pause.
Jesse began to feel more awake and realized how strange Dodger acted but he decided to not give it anymore thought right now. As much as he enjoyed talking to her, he really should get some sleep. Just as he tried to wrap up the conversation Dodger said:
“You and Jeannie seemed to have a lot of fun.”
Jesse had to think a little moment who she was talking about before remembering Jeannie, a good friend of Dodger he was kidding around with at the stream. How weird of her to bring that up, Jesse thought but just said:
“Yeah, the chat kept requesting silly stuff of her...”
“Like a kiss on the cheek.” Dodger interrupted him.
“Yeees... For example.” Jesse answered, narrowing his eyes. “Jealous?” he mocked her.
“I really thought we had something special, Jesse.” she answered tagging along with the joke.
“You know if you'd have been there I'd only have flirted with you girl.” Finally the conversation seemed to lighten up and be on his terrain again which is of course the terrain of silliness.
“Well, I guess I have to be around all the time then.” She laughed.
“You wouldn't be make it for two days. After one you'd be like: That's it! I'm done!” he said in one of his many silly voices, laughing too.
“Oh yes. I wouldn't be able to keep up with the Jesse Cox life style, I'm sure.”
Both laughed and giggled a little more before Jesse eventually said:
“Well, I should really go to bed now. I see moving spots again.”
“Yeah... Yeah sure. You must be so tired...”
Neither one said something.
“Ok, I guess till later then.” Jesse said
“Yeah. Till later, Jesse.” Brooke answered.
He didn't hear anything. He didn't hang up. He knew she hasn't yet.
They just sat there saying nothing to each other.
He wanted to say something. He wished he was drunk so his emotions just would burst out of him. Instead he hang up. He put it away and went to bed.
Tomorrow would be an other day of being the silly jester on the internet. Another day of being alone.
