one stop shop?
hello! so. i have a little background on this concept and explanation on what it is before anything else, doubly so as i now have about seven of these characters in art fight. so, here it is: what the fuck is the fusion world? technically i trace it to an older crossover world i used to make, but that's sort of irrelevant now, so it doesn't really matter. the actual original fusions i made around four years ago are now mostly retired, but there's a few who have survived to the year of 2024, when i'm writing and making this blog. as the original concept was a crossover, the characters are made from taking two different characters from explicitly different medias (it's a challenge i've held myself to, as some of these character outfits are so vastly different that it's genuinely hard to think up mixes ;;;;), making a whole new character that exists within the world i've been making alongside them. there's about forty official characters now, with a different grouping for characters that match exactly with the main fusions (supporting characters; they mostly exist for plot reasons), and as such, a lot of this will continue to be a work in progress. (if you're interested in the ramble about world building, click the read more!)
as this has a lot of... hard to mix together systems and lore, i've taken a stab at simplifying the whole thing. locking the world into a giant city and the surrounding areas is a way of keeping things streamlined, although i also attempted to streamline the actual magic powers and fighting systems by applying a gacha game structure of sorting. these are divided into classes and elements, with the different types being taken from assorted series. the classes are: thief, hunter, prince, sylph, mage, wizard, witch, knight, bard, paladin, rogue, maid, seer, muse the elements are: quantum, imaginary, physical, fire, wind, electric, ice, water, blood, life, death, light, shadow the gacha game inspiration also applies to rarity that i applied to the characters, although that's purely for a mechanics system and has no actual influence on the story, which is in opposition to the classes and elements. on account of the actual location, i chose a city as many of the series that influenced the world take place in large urban areas, particularly in japan. this made it easier to envision a location, as making a huge city is a lot simpler than an open world concept, although an open world concept would assist with how many things i've put into the damn thing. that being said, i also like the aesthetic of the city better, and thus it remains. there are a few areas outside of the city proper that are vital to the story (a forested area, the ocean; those are some particularly important examples), although i don't have a fully envisioned plot yet, just that my primary protagonist is isekai'd into the world, and there's a tree central to the city that she is inexplicably connected with.
