the key to understanding vrisrezi is that theyre equally bad. terezi is viewed better because self-preseevation and self-image are huge parts of how she talks to others. vriska forgoes the niceties and isnt all that shy about being honest about her atrocities, especially in hindsight. terezi represses, holds her facade strong, and begs to be loved while not letting herself be known. vriska releases, and her facade crumbles easily under earnest or destructive circumstances. they are quite lirerally two sides of the same machiavellian coin

also i think vriska needs the humility of realizing just how much of a ruthless, loadbearing loser she was as a teen. everyone likes to think vriska was just so so fucking cool and hardcore and badass including vriska herself. as if she wasnt the uppity debate team cunt everyone hated but kept cordial with because the whole team would lose without her. if she wasnt the theatre kid that fought tooth and nail for every part but the show would fall apart without her as female side character #2 because shes the only one who can pressure the male lead love interest into singing on-key with just a menacing glare. if she wasnt the violinist that hogged head chair of the second violins and shouted at people for being offkey but if shes absent one day the whole second violin section doesnt know who to copy and every song crumbles before it begins
