Lori Buff is an Atlanta artist creating unique functional and sculptural pottery using a variety of local clays. Most of her art is created on the potter’s wheel; some pieces are then altered. Sculptural works are fired using alternative techniques such as raku, salt, and naked raku.

Ring of Fire Tour - Day 2 continued After hiking around Mt. Shasta we drove to Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our campsite was a short walk away from this beautiful lake which also yielded views of the volcanos. Manzanita lake is young (for a lake) body of water at about 350 years old. It was created by a series of landslides on Choas Crags which damned up the river thus creating the lake. At night it beautifully reflects the stars which can be seen very well as it’s a dark sky area. We were fortunate as we were able to see shooting stars from our campsite. #lassenvolcanicnationalpark #findyourpark #nps #pnwwonderland (at Lassen Volcanic National Park) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgXlLS_voFJ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ring of Fire Tour - Day 2 More hiking today. This time we took off from an area named “Bunny Flats.” I’m not sure who named it that or why but it wasn’t flat and it wasn’t like the bunny slope you see at ski slopes. We were hiking at elevations around 7000 feet but were only 1/2 way to the summit. The clime to the summit is so difficult only about 50% of the people who try succeed. The views of Mt. Shasta and the surrounding area were breathtaking. I wish my iPhone camera could do them Justice. The sky was truly that blue, no filter required. Check out Janet’s posts for more photos. #hikemtshasta #findyourpark #nps #nofilter (at Mt. Shasta, Ca) https://www.instagram.com/p/CgU02_Pv6fL/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Ring of Fire Tour Day 1. After driving to Mt. Shasta Janet and I pitched our tent then drove up the volcano to hike around Panther Meadows. We did not see any panthers but we did see lots of beautiful wild flowers in this Alpine meadow. The trail loosely follows the stream created by a bubbling spring. It also presented wonder views of the top section of Mt. Shasta and the mountains surrounding her. Mount Shasta (Shasta: Waka-nunee-Tuki-wuki; Karuk: Úytaahkoo) is a potentially active volcano at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California. At an elevation of 14,179 feet (4,321.8 meters), it is the second-highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth-highest in the state. Mount Shasta has an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles (350 cubic kilometers), which makes it the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.The mountain and surrounding area are part of the Shasta–Trinity National Forest. Delicious lunch from Calypso Southwest at the St. John’s Beer Porch. I ate 1/2 the salad before taking the pic. They also have great donuts which are vegan so it’s almost like salad. #stjohnsbites (at St. Johns, North Portland, OR) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdB4JbBPQ5j/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
