[ EP ] JOEY - BANCHŌ

After building hype with two singles, Joey has finally released his third EP,  BANCHŌ. Exploring the rapper’s experiences by reflecting on his first year active in the industry, as well as an insight into a more grown up side of the celebrity as tracks like Wet and ClOuDeD explore his sexuality, and the uncharacteristically sweet Best Friends is a romantic, retro love confession. 

However, the Joey we know and love rears his head on Antihero and title track Banchō, staying true to his rambunctious bad boy image. 

Joey will be promoting the EP throughout the month on various music shows, so make sure to vote for him!

[ MV ] JOEY - ANTIHERO

A day before the release of his much anticipated EP BANCHŌ,  Joey drops the second single and music video, this time for the track Antihero. With a sound very true to the idol rapper’s usual stylings, Antihero dismisses all who look down on Joey as a rich kid who’s parents bought his success, with his cutting rap painting him as both an underdog and antihero who will get revenge on those who underestimate him. Playing off this theme, the music video sets a post apocalyptic scene, in which Joey revolts against the oppressive industry and comes out on top. 

Following BANCHŌ’s release tomorrow, Joey has promised fans at least one more music video, and will be promoting an as-of-yet unnamed title track.

[ MV ] JOEY - ClOuDeD 

ClOuDeD, the first single from solo rapper Joey’s upcoming ‘BANCHŌ’ EP, is a sexy R&B/Hip Hop song. More low tempo than the rapper’s previous releases, it shows a more mature and sensual side to the 20 year old, however his usual bombastic charisma peaks in through the booming bass and rap segments. While the lyrics describe craving touch from a lover, the music video shows Joey exploring a floral wonderland- interspersed with, controversially, two male models kissing on a bed. Perhaps disappointingly for some, Joey himself does not get in on this action. 

ClOuDeD is available on music sites now, and BANCHŌ will drop this coming monday- although it’s implied that another video may be released beforehand.
