I dropped off the AC fandom after Revelations because the ending broke me (minus playing a bit of Odyssey) but if the Unity outfit for the protag actually looked like this, you'd have to drag me away from my PC because that is beautiful. art history nerd here! when the notre dame burned a few years ago, the most damaged area was the roof. y'know who has a very extensive 3D model of the roof? ubisoft, for assassin's creed! ubisoft has been very involved in the restoration of the notre dame, pledging over half a million euros in support. so yep, that is most likely an assassin's creed dude carrying the olympic torch!

In other news, my boomer foster mom just had the rudest awakening, and it left me cackling.

So, my foster mom used to be a seamstress. To this day, she still does some sewing work on the side (repairs and fittings, things like that).

The daughter of one of her friends kept asking her to sew some things for her for a really low pay. She'd tell my foster mom to take her time but would call multiple times every day rushing her and asking her how many items she had ready. She'd eventually start complaining about how her company had a deadline to have these products ready and how my mom had to work faster.

(The pay was per item, not per hour of work my foster mom did, btw.)

Multiple times, my foster mom worked through the night to get this woman off her back. One time it even made her sick.

Eventually, my foster mom started refusing. The pay she was getting wasn't even enough to pay for the electricity she spent doing the work.

A few months later, one of my foster mom's friends is at this woman's house, and she is complaining about my foster mom and she says.

This VERY RICH WOMAN WHO WAS UNDERPAYING PEOPLE FOR MANUAL LABOUR SAYS.

"No one wants to work anymore."

My foster mom was fuming.

Mom: What does she mean!? I worked more than what I should do for what she paid me! How dare she!

Me: Oh? Did someone undervalue your work and try to take advantage of you? Were you overworked and underpaid? And to add insult to injury when you refused to continue being abused, did the person abusing you victimise herself and made you the villain?

Mom: ...

Me: Oh, it's almost like... What employers did to me over and over again, huh? Do you remember when I complained about it? Do you remember what you and dad said?

Mom: ...

Me: You and dad told me it was probably my fault! You told me I wasn't working hard enough! You told me that, indeed, no one wanted to work anymore, and millennials were all lazy.
