“JUSTICE FOR SOOJIN” Petition Receives 160,000+ Signatures Following Her Removal From (G)I-DLE

Soojin’s petition being one of the top signed within the website says a lot about the impact of her sudden departure.

On August 14, (G)I-DLE‘s Soojin officially withdrew from the group due to the controversies caused by her previous school bullying accusations. Only a few hours later, a Neverland under the name of Zosia Prech created a petition to Cube Entertainment demanding her return.

One of the main problems fans have regarding the situation is that Soojin herself was not allowed to give an official statement, which Prech explained in detail.

WE WANT OUR SOOJIN BACK!! She does NOT deserve ANY of this. Even IF (we didn’t even get an explanation) she made mistakes, kicking her out of (G)I-DLE is NOT a solution! (G)I-DLE is and forever will be 6. BRING SOOJIN BACK, CUBE! GIVE US AN EXPLANATION!! JUSTICE FOR SOOJIN!! Soojin was FALSELY accused of school bullying (which was YEARS ago) and had a fight with her friend when she was 12. Isn’t it ridiculous to kick somebody out of the group because of that?? We got no explanation, Soojin didn’t even get to speak up about it!! JUSTICE FOR SOOJIN!!

Soojin’s last personal update about the scandal was posted half a year ago, which she concluded by saying “I will continue to fight to reveal the truth about the things I did not do.” After that, it was practically radio silence on Soojin’s and the company’s end until her removal was all of a sudden announced by a staff member at Cube Entertainment.

Hello. This is Cube Entertainment. Firstly, we bow our heads in apology for concerning you with the matter of our company artist, Seo Soojin’s controversy. We would like to inform you that it was decided that Seo Soojin will withdraw from the group effective today.

In a mere three days, the amount of signatures supporting the reinstatement of Soojin has already passed 160,000, with the number only continuing to rise as time goes on.

At the time of publishing, there has been no response from Cube Entertainment. Still, fans are hoping that Soojin will at least be able to see how so many Neverlands still support her wholeheartedly.

Breaking: Soojin Announced To Be Leaving (G)I-DLE

On August 14, Cube Entertainment announced that Soojin would be leaving (G)I-DLE.

Their statement reads:

This is Cube Entertainment.

First, the agency apologizes for having caused concern through the controversy associated with our artist Soojin.

Today, we are announcing the decision that Soojin will be leaving the group.

(G)I-DLE will henceforth promote as five members. We will continue to do our best and provide unstinting support so that (G)I-DLE can show their growth in music and performance.

Thank you.

Soojin has been on hiatus since March after people shared posts online alleging that Soojin had bullied other students in school. Although Soojin and Cube Entertainment denied the rumors, actress Seo Shin Ae eventually came forward and said that Soojin had bullied her when they were classmates together.

(G)I-DLE’s Miyeon Confirmed To Star In New Romance Web Drama

SF9’s Hwiyoung and (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon will be starring in a new web drama together!

On September 24, OSEN reported that Hwiyoung and Miyeon had been cast for the web drama “Replay” (literal title).

Following reports, Heart People, the company that produced the web drama “Our Baseball,” revealed that the new web drama “Replay” had finished casting the main characters and had begun filming.

“Replay” will be a relatable romance story about the dreams and love of 18-year-olds during the time when they are most clumsy, insecure, and innocent. Like the title, the drama will be told by replaying the past in present time. Famous artists will participate in singing the OSTs for the drama, making viewers fall even deeper into the story emotionally.

The male lead will be played by rookie actor Kim Min Chul, who starred in the web dramas “Dating Class” and “The Guilty Secret.” Miyeon will play the role of the female lead, and Hwiyoung has been cast as the role of Lee Ji Hoon. Choi Ji Soo will play Im Seo Eun, Marco will play Shim Tae Young, and Kwon Hyuk Soo will make a special appearance as In Ho.

This will be Miyeon’s first acting role since her debut through (G)I-DLE’s first mini album “I Am” in May 2018. Viewers are already curious to see what kind of transformation she’ll show in the upcoming web drama.

Hwiyoung is currently starring in the web music drama “DokGoBin is Updating” as the artificial intelligence (AI) robot Dokgo Bin. He will also be starring in the prequel to “The Mermaid Prince,” “The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning,” as the role of Yoon Gun, a character that looks cold on the outside but is actually a romantic at heart and only has eyes for one person.

“Replay” is slated to air in the second half of this year.
